Have you noticed something about this time of year...

If you go outside about a half hour before dawn, at first light...
A few birds start to chirp, and before long all the songbirds start singing, almost at once.
For a brief few minutes it's like all the birds in the world singing.
Who knew there were so many nearby and within earshot?

We've had friends from urban areas visit us and remark on the fact.
If it's warm enough to have the windows open, there's no way they sleep through it
We, OTOH, are undisturbed by it.

 

That’s another thing that’s great about turkey hunting . You’re in the woods a good half hour before daylight and you listen to the woods wake up !

I’m shocked …… it did not rain last night . Now they are saying showers this afternoon.

 

same same for deer hunting, we watch the world awaken, and go to sleep in the evenin

When I first moved out here, 15yr ago - there were a lot more birds/bird noises in the early morning; maybe 2-3x what there is now...
It is kinda sad.
