The Pro doesn’t come with mud guards or bed lighting? I thought the Pro was fully pimped?

It would be a difference of $36,000 by my math. If you spent $300/month on gas you’d realize those savings in 10 years.

    With a 21 gallon tank you're spending that at $5/gallon in under 3 fill-ups.

On last check our Tesla has required $0 in maintenance over the last 2 years and 30k miles of ownership. At $0.07/kWh it’s less than $0.50/day for a 50 mile round trip commute. A 30k maintenance for my Tacoma requires hundreds in gear oil, spark plugs, motor oil, and filters. Not to mention my time to do the work.

The fuel savings alone would offset the vehicle payment for many people. But yah “saving on gas” just doesn’t add up for a lot of folks here.

"Reviewers" don't care whatsoever about reliability, or what it will look like after 150K miles. Toyota reliability is thoroughly documented to still be way above Ford. That is worth $.

I definitely agree with you, let’s wait 10 years to see what the resale value is between the Tacoma and the raptor….
there’s a reason why Ford makes their trucks so pretty, because it’s the only thing they have to bring to the table.

Ford is much more innovative than Toyota. How many years before Toyota introduced a TT-V6 into a truck?

The 0-60 in 2.6sec may also influence the decision.

Would never buy a Ford but just saying the Ranger Raptor have the chance of eating the sales from the Tacoma. Lot more choices than before and the price is appealing

I have this sign in my garage. I watched a few videos on the Ranger Raptor and it's a cool truck. Like you I would never own a Ford though even if the Raptor was the same price as my base offroad that I just paid 51xxx CDN for

Like this! Imagine a dealer advertising your new Rav4 Prime is only $10,000 after fuel savings over a 20 year break down, people would lose their shit!

It's not about funny math or greed. No one wants to pull up to a light and have the same exact vehicle, same color, next to them. Everyone wants to be at least a little different. Some want to be very different. Many who can afford a CT want to flaunt that they can afford a CT. Maybe I want a Pro because the likelihood of me seeing another one at Home Depot is low. That way I won't try to get into the wrong truck :).

Being that this is a Toyota forum, and that vehicle forums in general consist of the top 1/10th of a percent of the manufacturer's die-hard fanbase, I'm surprised that people are favoring Toyota over Ford.

I'm sure funny math gets a few buyers. Most buy because of one or more of the following 1. Beast mode/ludicrous/plaid is for real and it's a blast, 2. Virtue signalersupload_2024-4-24_7-42-32.png , 3. It's consider a "premium" brand like MB/Lexus/BMW which attracts those who can afford them.

if your memory is that far gone you should be riding in the retirement home shuttle, not driving yourself.

At least you’re already in Florida with the rest of the old fucks
