I mean a lot of everyday married couples incomes combine to make that and more, and no one has an existential crisis about that...why would that be super high for just one person, when a lot of 2 income house holds make that and more...are they all rolling in dough...I think not.

Even the statisticians say you have to make 93,933 to live comfortably in the US in 2024. I am sure this data is talking about metro areas, but still.

Cars and trucks are actually still relatively cheap here compared to many other countries in the global south, believe it or not. Financing isn't always available there either, so only the richest people can afford them.

Only people really well off and don’t care about money are buying these right now. There is zero value in spending $50,000 on a Tacoma, 0% interest + massive discounts are coming soon.....From page 1

I confess.. I have spent a measurable number of minutes looking at the Maverick. Shame one me, is that a thought crime? You can't ignore this when it's between 10k to 20k cheaper than a Tacoma. No wonder they are selling well. I would say the Maverick is more akin to what we used to call a "pickup". No one in the U.S. market makes "pickups" anymore. And, Maverick has just as much, if not slightly more, payload capacity than a Tacoma. Seeing as the average Tacoma owner doesn't tow very often and cares more about payload, it's surprising that no effort was made to boost payload capacity on the Tacoma.

The fact of the matter is this....The Maverick will cover the "daily" needs of 99% of people who have a truck for nonwork use. It will cover the the yearly use of probably 80% of those same people. I know it would work for me and when it didn't I could just have the stuff delivered or rent a uhaul truck for a few bucks. I just don't like the looks of them.

30K and under Tacoma's 4x4's with less than 60,000 miles on them are out there on the used market. Since the Tacoma has legendary reliability a used Tacoma should be more reliable that new of anything else no...

If I had to get something today I would definitely give the Mav a look. I'm a homeowner who doesn't need towing capacity or a huge backseat. Having that much of a gap in price I'd be a fool to not at least add to the list.

It should be body on frame. The ridiculous emissions regulations in this country mean that you cannot make a small fuel efficient truck. I’ve never seen anything so bass ackwards. Super turbo raptor blasting oil from its poo chute is perfectly fine, but a compact body on framed truck is the devil.

True but depends how much one drives as well. I would have zero issues with buying a vehicle at that mileage in general, as I drive 10K or less a year.

The plumber has a truck and can bring it with them. How many people out there you think can change one out these days.

It’s actually super easy to do, even for the gas ones. You just need to have at least two guys because wrestling the damn thing in and out of place is a pain in the ass.

    I agree, super easy, j
I agree, super easy. Both my kids(17b, 15g) can do a brake job on disc brakes. Just way too many helpless people out there that can't find their way around a tool box because they were never taught or wanted to learn.
