Why is it every time there's a Toyota I want to buy there's a Spanish only speaker who couldn't bother to text while selling it... There's have been a couple successful Google translate facebook marketplace buys but more often than not being first isn't enough

 

Have a friend getting his pilots license right now, this is very true. Learning to fly is catastrophically expensive, so much so that some are saying the bottom rung of the ladder for career pilots is missing. General aviation is a shrinking world.

It doesn’t seem sustainable to me that the only ways to become a pilot are to be independently wealthy or take on crippling debt and risk being 300k in the hole with little to show for it. Don’t even get me started on med school.

I suppose joining the military might be the best option if you don’t have the money for flight school, but you have to commit to 10 years of service iirc. I might be too late for that at 27.

Plus if you joined the service, which you won't, I'd give you significantly more shit than I already do

Off topic, there's this whole correlation with ammonia vs ammonium when talking temperature and pH levels I just learned about

Had to get an alkaline buffer to bring up my carbonate hardness a bit and stablize my pH levels

Yesterday had a pH below 6.6 with a kh of about 25-50ppm



Today I have a pH of about 7.4 with a kh of 100ppm



Ammonia still at 0ppm, but my nitrites are still hovering a hair over 0.25ppm

TLDR

 

Just plop a damn fish in already, it'll be fine.

 

Fuck that, I'm gonna be a pilot instead

But yes I could've put some in since last week actually

Everything has remained stable/consistent and the drop in kh and pH had to do with my live plants: it's all just part of the learning process for me as I never ran live plants before

Now that I have them and constantly see low numbers I have to wonder why more people don't use them
