I had looked at ECGS too and it would be a 4.5K initial investment but then just under 2 when you return the cores.

I think I could tackle swapping out the diffs myself. I would probably pull an @TacoTime55 and use a base auto shop, since I can get in as a vet.

That’s a great option to have available, once again I’m jealous of your mechanical skills lol

Yeah it seems pretty pricey regardless of how you go about doing it, but it also seems like one of those things that everyone feels was worth it once they have it done.

Me too! But I am good at carpentry/construction. At least I have friends who are mechanic and they have lift in garage so they can work under the truck.

The MPGs on these Maxxis MTs is really impressive for a tire with such aggressive tread. I just finished my first full tank on them and I filled up at 304 miles. According to the readout on the dash, I had 50 miles to empty so assuming that’s relatively accurate it seems like I could do 325-350 miles per tank in an emergency situation. I normally fill up around half a tank but just wanted to see how these compared to the same size grabbers in terms of MPGs for science.

This tank was mixed highway/city driving, so mileage should be better on long trips.

Took my sway bar off last week to see how it impacted the ride. Truck seems to act odd on the highway and since my commute is mostly higher speeds I’m gonna put it back on. The ride could be that I put the 255/85s back on and they have bad uneven wear and possibly unbalanced. The suspension does feel better but I don’t think the trade off is worth it with driving a lot of highway when I have to go on longer drives.

Sounds like a smart move to me, I never considered removing the sway bar.

Yeah it can be very risky if going on the curve road or turns. But you can go off road park without sway bar but you can tow tacoma on the trailer, though.

I will stick with it on until I get another truck and a trailer.

Do you watch Maxx Powell's YouTube videos? I think he is one of them who removed sway bar from Tacoma... He doesn't drive Tacoma on road much only towing often with his Tundra. I like his Tacoma a lot... He added lot of stuff onto his truck since he bought Tacoma on day one.

I like his mods except the taillights which he recently swapped them. Looks weird to me.

I’ll have to check him out, I don’t think I’ve seen any of them. The “reward” for removing the sway bar is not worth the risk, even slightly. I didn’t feel enough of a positive impact so back on it went and now I don’t need to worry.

Serious question or sarcastic one lol. Sometimes it’s tough to tell on TW:rofl:

Those tires in the picture are 17's anyway... so you would need new wheels as well it seems.

Mostly sarcastic, but a little serious because I've forgotten. Haven't had a swaybar on my truck for a little over 11 years....

Not shipping, but looking to cut a hell of a deal to whoever wants to come pick them up. Plus there is a matching 5th that is not in the picture as it was still mounted at the time.
