    Indeed.

a maverick with the 4k tow package is objectively better in every way for my needs than the 4g Tacoma. Better MPG, better ride, lower load height, checks all the capability boxes, tens of thousands of dollars less to purchase, lower insurance costs, etc.

but I’m vain an want to look cool so I’ll spend dramatically more to feed my ego

    Like, so many.
Inflation has FAR outpaced my salary increases. My spending power is much lower than it use to be even though I'm making more.

I have never seen one of those on the street. Do they even sell them? I see more Mexican Renaults.

Majority of people buying pickup trucks would be better suited with like a RAV4 with a utility trailer.

In the future fewer people will drive, own cars and even fewer will own new cars. Raising prices are how that manifests. I get really surprised when I see people thinking that prices will return to 1990 levels again.

Inflationary bootstraps, that’s sounds interesting, where can we acquire those ?

I make a fair wage, better than most, inflation is real. I truly feel for those who have trouble paying their new grocery bills, it shocks me sometimes.

Depends where you live. I don’t see personal gasoline and diesel powered vehicles ever going away in Wyoming.

Maybe if you live in a planned urban dystopian community like they’re building a few miles north of here outside of Fairfield and you can be car free in a tenement cubicle 15 minute city hellhole.

Three generations of a family living in a $2.5 million 1400 sq ft townhome sharing a community bicycle to take them to the electric bus.

    I bought a long-term 2003 Honda Pilot in 2002...loved that 3.2L/V6 with 19 gallon tank.

When I said goodbye to her on Oct 3, 2018 she was replaced with a 2010 Mazda CX-9.

Not as high off the ground but she resembled a station wagon in a way.

I keep mentioning this but...after our Mortgage Refi/Cash-out that finalized in Spring 2021, I bought my TRD Sport.

Interest rates were radically low for couples with great individual FICO scores...2.87% for the Mortgage and 1.8% for my truck loan. (MSRP $38,803)

My transition was great considering I had previously owned a 3.2L/V6 but with a smaller tank...19 gallon vs 22 gallon.

I hauled things in both SUVs and figured getting my first new truck was deserving for me...my first truck was a used Isuzu Pup long bed while stationed in Hawaii. (1999-2003)

I'm very happy with my truck which currently just went over 27K miles...she will be 3 years old on May 14, 2024. :)

Current US vehicle loan average is $800 a month and 1 in 5 are over $1000 that is nuts. I am in Canada so those numbers should each be 1/4 higher. I watched a video the other day on repossessions. The guys channel is called Jack Morgan RLP there was a 2024 BMW suv of some sort with only 215 miles that got repo'd people have lost their minds. My 2024 Offroad base in Canada with no down payment is $1300 a month over 6 years thats $93600 for a truck that is 51K plus tax. I was nervous about putting 44k down and a small loan for $292 a month

My mom has always wanted a TRX, so she bought one that was repossessed and put up for auction because it had some minor cosmetic damage from the repo that cost less than $2000 to fix. The truck only had like 314 miles on it. The registration paperwork showed that it was sold with 251.

    Thank
thanks, Now in discussion of wants vs needs at the moment. When I can get a full sized truck for a tad more and have more for same price. tough pill to swallow or even go to Colorado or raptor and get as good a truck just questionable reliability and value of the truck not nearly as good as Toyota hurts but that sticker is just absolute killer.

That is daffy, my mortgage is about $1300 a month including taxes and insurance. Granted I bought the house 20 yrs ago and it was older plus I've done more fixes and upgrades here than I care to recall without cringing..none of the upgrades were vanity based either.

I mean I guess to each thine own though.
