I’ve bolted some stuff to it *lists cool stuff here*

Randomness but money is money especially on a day off from my normal yob..

I demo’d/installed tile floor in this house in the past, doing so I had to pull and put the dishwasher back in, gave them the idea to call me when they got a new dishwasher, also a new little vent hood over new range. Convenient for them as the tile needed some attention based on previous hood dimensions vs new..

I had a problem with screws coming loose on several projects from wood to masonry .... my solution was Harbor Freight cheap super glue (3 for $1.00) ... it even worked on loose Tapcon's for an outside flag mount in bricks ... just don't plan to remove the screws.

I like gorilla wood glue better than tight bond we used it in the shop but I went out to reglue it a couple times. Along with a toothpick. Advantage less clamp time. Seemed to give me the better in and out time.

Good afternoon, should I use t-molding or custom reducer for 3/16" floor height difference at the transition?

I had this one installed in our garage in Oct, it's performed well so far. I prefer the hybrid Ruud in our other house but due to garage layout needed to put a tankless high on the wall. I gated the cold air exhaust on the hybrid to blow either outside or back into the space, was free air conditioning during summer. I especially miss that now that I'm in Florida, my garage isn't conditioned.

Just do what my neighbors did and rattle can gloss white over the rust and lichen and call it a day. No. Don't do that. Is your paint peeling from your current gutters - as in coming off in flakes? Both of the suggestions given to you are technically correct. Pressure washer will help get the easy stuff off but you will need to get up there and use a stiff bristled brush and scrub with some detergent based cleaner to get the rest of the stuff off. You can use that time to check the condition of your gutters and make repairs of any scratches by lightly sanding the scratches or gouges out. Paint with a clear acrylic based bonding primer. Give it a few hours after your cleaning so the metal has time to dry. Then hit it with 2 coats of an oil based high glossed enamel. Finally paint it with an ammonia free, 100 percent acrylic paint. Spraying will result in less streaking and no visible brush strokes. Hope that helps.

No peeling yet , its just where I have cleaned some mold of of them in the past , the paint seems to have just faded away , the aluminum is starting to peek thru. I appreciate you suggestions and will do all of them when Im able to get some time off . Sounds like a great job for a son who isnt working right now

When I was building my downspouts during covid, could only find brown elbows. Ended up scuffing them up and spraying them white, they still look great now.

So at my old place there was a section of aluminum trim that once I put a cleaner on it and pressure washed the paint all came off. I used Rustoleum Aluminum Primer and Rustoleum flat white spray paint. This was probably 5 years ago and it's still holding up. You do have to make sure any chalky paint is removed or you'll have adhesion problems.

The gutters on the front of my house are doing the same thing. Probably gonna do the same regimen. Gotta remember to park the vehicles around back though. That overspray is a killer :anonymous:

...^^^... I have a 4 year old home and had it repainted last summer-fall and used Sherwin Williams - Emerald Paint (was 40% off) ... I ALWAYS

use premium paint and buy it in advance on sale.

I had the painters (4 man crew) repaint the entire exterior twice ... they laughed and did what I requested ... paid the crew by the day and got a super job.

They sprayed some of the house and brushed part of the house ... I would like to brush 100% of the house, but that would cost too much.

Anyway ... they painted the aluminum gutters that had a baked on finish that

had stained and I will repaint the gutters with each house paint job in the

    future.

We pressure washed the house very well 2 days before and let it dry in the hot sun before any painting.

    FWIW ... I love S/W premium paint.

ALSO ... I watch in the neighborhood and check out the very good paint jobs with the expensive general contractor companies ... then I contact their painters-subs and have them "moonlight for me on their days off or when they are between jobs".
I get a super job, at a good price and I always buy them a good lunch and treat the crew very well.
I saved about 50% by using the crew this way and buying the paint at 40% off ..
getting a super job with premium paint too.

I used SW Duration flat for the exterior of my house. Prepped and sprayed the whole thing myself during the 2020 stay at home era. All the trim was done by hand. I used the amount of paint the house took. Some sides with more sun exposure soaked up more. SW is definitely the best imo.

Other neighbors on my street hired out, got cheap labor and cheap Dunn Edwards. Their's looks like sh*t and I doubt they'll get more than a few years out of it. :D

Dunn Edwards has big paint recycling facility in AZ. They take all the old paint, mix it up, re tint it and re sell it as new Dunn Edwards. :puke:
