    Yes.

    I have one. Open.

The flavors are EXTREMELY concentrated and intense.

Basil Hayden has been my go-to recently, and I really like it. I'm pretty new to the whiskey scene, so let me know if anyone has any other favorites in the $50ish pricepoint I should try. I'm in CO, so it's pretty tough to find the rare bottles.

I used to say...there isn't much, but let me tell ya, there are some brands just knocking it outta the park lately, $50 and below:
    1. 13th Colony straight bourbon
    2. Ben Holladay soft red wheat
    3. Eagle Rare 10 year (it's overpriced a lot lately)
    4. Kings Country extra light bourbon whiskey
    5. Buffalo trace (around $25 a 750ml)
    6. Weller green label
    7. Through the woods, peach and pear wood staves (seriously, people will hate me for this one, but it's a darned good hot weather pour)
    8. Wild Turkey Rare Breed

I was very much like yourself, I wasn't in the market for allocated bottles, or high proof. That has developed just over the past six months. Now I know what I like, and can call garbage (which is what unfortunately I've made many mistakes when buying....didn't read or watch any reviews...and got burned)

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I have tried and enjoy Eagle Rare (when I can find it) and buffalo trace but will keep an eye out for others on the list.

The only ones I would consider would be Penelope Architect, the Old Ezra, and the Larceny Barrel Proof.

The Old Ezra is higher proof and hot, the Larceny a little less hot.

If you want something milder and sweet, the Architect.

Anyone tried the Jeffersons Tropics? Watched a few online reviews, and they gave it a thumbs up....but I want to hear it from someone that actually purchases out of their pocket, and has a fair opinion

Picked this up at ABC today and working on it now. It is *very good* if you're an Irish whiskey fan.

It's okay juice, but as stated it's sourced. I'm okay with sourced whiskey, but not at the price they are asking for it. You can get something better for half the price.

Found this at a tiny shop down the street. Holy Cow! Little Book has had some big misses the past couple of years…this is a home run! Graham cracker and brown sugar on the nose. Front of the palate dark fruit turning to brown sugar mid palate, with a bit of pepper and strangely enough oak and leather with corn at the back end. This sucker is outstanding!!!!

Decided to give this Copper and Cask a try tonight. It’s MGP based, you can tell right off the bat. Sweet grape, caramel, just a bit of oak. The proof brings it home at 121. For $50, it’s pretty decent. Nothing to really separate it from other MGP based finishers, but it’s actually a good pour.
