Maybe. Could be the extra weight has taken the edge off of it somewhat.

Hybrids suffer from good old fashioned curb weight bloat. Marginal mpg’s & performance increases sapped by those nickel batteries, which irritatingly also eat up the storage.

You know it’s meh when not even the trained YouTube seals seem overly excited.

Lack of storage on the hybrid might be the bigger issue for me.

    Well besides cost of course.

Are the 3 people in the US who bought Gen 3 Tundras saying the same thing, that the hybrid system isn't doing anything?

If I'm going to lose not some but ALL of my interior storage, I want that battery back pulling its weight. And then some.

Don't give a rat's butthole what the "Reviewers" have to say. I'm buying a Limited hybrid, fully optioned. It will be my daily driver. It will be a Street Queen and it will be wonderful! Thank you.

In my use case, I am anticipating an always on mod for longer stays in the back country. 2.4 Kw of power already built out and warrantied sure beats the 400 w that would always trip when refilling a power station. Don't really care about any extra ponies. RR can have all the ponies in the world for the trip to the mall. Don't care.

So there is actually a gauge you can pull up showing hybrid motor output.

In one of the videos I watched, that electric motor power gauge only hits 50% off the line and does not actually peak until your in like 2nd gear. It looks like once it is actually rolling it will give it all the beans. I would bet a traction control off launch would get you a better 0-60 time, but the software may still limit that motor output.

I am sure the truck feels great to drive and is the most powerful feeling Taco ever, but 326 HP is only going to do so much in a 5,500 lb truck.

As the article pointed out, a vehicle is a depreciating asset that loses value over time and inflation exacerbates that depreciation. I’ll take your bet: my house has appreciated at a greater rate than inflation and further more my mortgage rate is less than inflation, therefore my “cost of money” is also accretive to the total value.

In an interview, Mr Chief Engineer was questioned about the lower HP number on the manual NA engine vs the auto. He flat out said they detuned it because they can't control the driver in the manual and the force he can produce. Whereas they can control the output in the auto.

Which leads me to believe the tuner guys still have jobs when it comes to the hybrid. Wonder how much headroom there really is.

I think the original argument was that Tacomas/Toyotas depreciate less than other brands. Yes, when inflation adjusted the depreciation is higher, but that affects all vehicles and your net depreciation for the Toyota will still be lower.

Between timing tweaks, waste gate tweaks, and hybrid system parameter tweaks, the tuners will have a field day with this truck. There' no question that there's a lot of headroom left in this bitch.

I think the problem here is that the advantages of the hybrid over the iForce are not nearly as cut and dry as they are on say, a Rav4 hybrid, where the efficiency gains are huge. I am not sure how popular the hybrid will actually be in the non-premium trims. Since no long bed is offered I'd definitely skip the hybrid for now.

He said on the Manuals they had to cut 8 horsepower back to 270 because of some kind of crankshaft vibration or something.

This was a different tuber and different video which have been lost somewhere in the history bin of my viewing. You just going to have to trust me. Or not.

I think the main point is how much they adjust things in the tuning to bias on the warranty side.

The Max engine upgrade is $3,700.

Last year, most SR5s were sold with the v6, which was, wait for it, a $3,700 option.

These prices are wack and not worth. Except for the trailhunter. Them turbo sounds from the intake alone justifies the 63k msrp, don't @ me.

Jkjk, as cool as the turbo sounds coming from the desert air intake, ain't no way are these 63-64k prices justifiable. And that's before tax and markups.

Not this video. More recent. I have already seen that. "This was a different tuber and different video which have been lost somewhere in the history bin of my viewing".

If you don't believe me. Don't care.
