ads make it sound like 4th gen is 400hp blasting off from idle
    Is that not the case?

    2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid HP · Hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain · 326 hp · 465 lb.-ft of torque at just 1700 rpm · 8-speed automatic transmission.

The joke is longevity. What happens when your hybrid battery bank dies? How long till replacement ? Cost?

It does move but who cares if it dies in 20-30k miles. the rear suspension is actually nice but the in the cab and driving it just doesn't feel good, maybe just me but it I don't feel as confident as I do in my 2nd gen.

Thats a pretty tiny Turbo that they spool the BAGEEZUS out of.

Im keeping the 2nd gen, and installing a supercharger. may even install a high stall torque converter too. Apparently there is a local company that makes them for the 2nd gens. Wish I could find some replacement seats.
Yes I have airbags, just unplugging them isnt an option unless I can find a work around and a weight sensor work around for the passenger side.

NIMH Battery Chemistry from what I've read on the i-Force Max, good for cold weather vs Lithium.
215k on my 06 Prius original pack was replaced under warranty at 60k, 2nd pack still going strong. if the pack is anything like the Prius, it should have battery modules that can be replaced individually but we'll have to see.

It will never be the case, Turbos spool up too slowly to get it really going off the line.
Its Toyota, they have been the leader in Hybrid tech for 20 years. There are millions of Prius's that still have their original battery pack. Though I'm sure there will be some bugs with this newest iteration of the system, I'm sure the batteries won't be one of them and they will have the issues solved in a year or two

There are work arounds for Airbags and aftermarket seats. I got mine figured out. Haven't crash but the passenger side is armed, and I have no warning lights

I used the clamp method on the weight sensor. This is where I got the info: Seat Occupancy sensor and air bag simulator | Tacoma World
I'm using the solo motor sports brackets and the PRP daily driver seats.
I'm an 08 without the seat airbags, I want to mention. Since your in SD, I'm down to meet up and let you see what I did.

Hard to beat 5 gears and the 4.0. I'm sure it felt better than the 3rd gen. Only the 2 top trims are getting hybrid and it will be 50k plus. Little too much coin for my taste. Think the hybrid is suppose to take the place of the trd supercharger instead of seen as a Prius. My beater with a heater is treating me just fine.

Correct, all of the hybrid 4x's are designed for that extra off the line torque to fill the turbo lag gap like a Tesla, not get good MPG. Like the new Tundras get better mpg than the v8 ones did, but that's not saying much. I believe they are still in the 18-22 range depending how heavy your foot is

I have an E-tron GMC with the 5.3l V8. I'm averaging on 400 miles about 19.5 MPG. My second gen on 285x75x17 regeared with 4.88, about 15/16mpg per tank 17 gallon. I love the pep of the GMC, but also love my gen 2 taco. Gets the job done but am defiantly not racing anyone lol

Dirt King makes a SUA that calls out that pack if it is the H70HD.

Its just the H70, I know the JD kit uses both. does anyone know the measurements of the H70? The pair I found doesn't have any stickers or information.

    For visual reference
Free height or unloaded arch is measured by taking a line from center of one eye straight across to the center of the other eye and measure from there at the center pin to the top of the main leaf (C). Pack thickness is measured at the center pin (D).
