The problem with the Pro being so well equipped, is that using its capabilities to the fullest almost certainly includes risking scratches and little dents on your fancy brocoma Pro.

I was zeroed-in on a TRD OR with disconnecting sway, 6' bed and no hybrid. The mandatory hybrid thing just piles on cost. That $11k difference is real money. Heck, for $11k I'd even jump to Nissan or other decent brands.

My aforementioned ideally spec'd TRD OR, whilst not as capable on paper as the Pro, can still do more than most Pro owners would "risk" doing anyways. And, the Toyota resale value is fully present even on an OR.

My coworker has a 2023 TRD Pro. Has ground clearance robbing steel side steps, and he is in constant fear someone will scratch it. He says he'll probably never off road it. I don't understand buying all that ability, just to not use it. Makes everything more expensive when manufacturers smell the money

With all due respect, half their base didn't buy the previous Pro, and wouldn't buy the current Pro/TH even at 5-10K less. These are halo trims that generate interest in the other trims. Think Corvette.

Catfishing is Catfishing no matter what you’re doing. You should strive to make the best base model, not entice people with a trim that they’re never gonna be able to buy or can’t afford.

I don’t think that you should be using a vehicle that makes up a small portion of the sales and is essentially a halo subvariant model in your vehicle advertising.

You should be using the most regularly (or anticipated) sold trim.

I remember seeing plenty of ads for the OR when I was shopping back in '18. I think we are talking apples and oranges? This halo vehicle is common throughout the industry. Dunno why the sudden outcry. The Pro was always out of 50 percent of the fanbase.

I’ve have had more Toyotas, but here are the vehicles I bought brand new…

    2 Tacomas, 2 FJ cruisers, 3 4runners.

Not all of these were for me, but since I bought the vehicles, I’m on the bill of sale and the point of contact.

No one has EVER reached out from Toyota about any opinion I have of the vehicles.

How about looks, no additional rear seat space, fake wider width, IPad on the dashboard, hitch you cannot remove, Ford Ranger tiny sliding rear window, no power seat. Last but not lease you can get a Tundra for the same price as an OR or Sport. Power in the third gen is fine. It isn't a race car it is a mid sized pickup.

Basically all the left over TRX's that they can't put hellcat motors in anymore. Wish the regular TRX's were still 75k ish considering there really isn't a shortage.

And these are the mid-cycle refreshes that get you to trade in. Same story, new gen.

Should be power seats but if it's a deal killer to some that you have to manually adjust a seat then it seems there's a need for a serious exercise regiment.

This is what I mentioned earlier. The street prices for the TRD Pro and Trailhunter will be just as high or higher than current prices for a Tundra TRD Pro. I understand people like the truck, but paying more for less truck is just not smart.
