I spent ten years trying to drink Reno Nevada dry. The conclusion I reached is that it cannot be done...

The jetboil base camp has the best flame control of anything I’ve ever used

I’ve considered getting one of these that’ll run off gasoline. Would come in handy as a backup at least

I can confirm, the Jet Boil genesis stove hase excellent heat control. Also love the form factor of it.

@R.A.. had a nice cast iron skillet attachment on his stove at Wyalusing. Been meaning to ask where to get it again lol

The ones that came with my Coleman are nice and all but have nowhere for the grease to drain.

The Camp Chef Everest that @Pixeltim has is really nice. I've heard good things about Jetboil, too.

This is solid advice. Just look how much more tolerable I become after I start handing out old fashioneds in the evening. :D

Depends what you are looking for in a stove too. What you are cooking, what you need for pots/pans/griddle etc.

my Ikamper disco is awesome, but I bought it during presale for a lot less money.

    these are cool too

About half the time, I’m lazy and just do dehydrated meals.

I do the same a lot. Especially if I'm camping solo. It's just so convenient. And, I actually like some of them.

Yeah, I love my Jet Boil flash setup for the French press coffee and boiling water for dehydrated meals. I also do like some of the meals I've found too.

The Jet Boil Genesis looks great, but I think I'd like a setup where I can do a flat griddle and I'm not sure that would work well with that setup, but I haven't checked on that. It's a little pricey too but they make quality stuff. I'll have to check out the Camp Chef options.

Some of them are really good. Hard to go wrong with any of the pastas, fajita chicken bowl and sweet and sour pork are all good.

I’ve also got ingredients from here that you can use to make whatever you want. Same idea but more flexibility and variety

I looked at the Jetboil Genesis and the Everest I ended up buying. Both have outstanding heat control, all the way down to a simmer. I wanted a griddle on mine, and the Everest was about half the cost of the Genesis system, so it was an easy choice for me, even though I agree with Jason about the form factor of the Genesis.

Agreed. The Pastas generally seem to turn out pretty well. @WiscoPat still makes fun of me for eating chicken Alfredo for breakfast one time.

    I'll check that website out.
