alright folks I wanna hear your creative loopholes that workaround trashing $2k just to borrow a POS surge brake UHaul 6x12 for extra stuff that might not all fit in the truck (long distance)

You put a fifth wheel connector in your Taco? This could be epic!

keep in mind these weight 4500 to 5000 empty.

hopefully avoid that if I can figure out a loophole

bringing a rental trailer to return at the same location would turn it from $2k to $30
but driving back accross the country just to do that is not realistic
More gas, and too much time beyond the rental period

maybe if there was one of these enclosed and taller vertical to hold more than just one low layer of boxes that wouldn’t utilize the carrying capacity these things are rated at (some of them 750lbs) - not sure how the hitch likes it. But folks carry motorcycles that way so it’s probably fine.

    so apparently
for only around $500, HFT sells a folding trailer
with side holders for vertical wood bars (2x6?)

that, with a little bit of effort, appear would hold plywood walls
to hug boxes inside from falling out so it's not open deck like a vehicle trailer

    this...looks pretty good....

Then, when not in use, can be stored pretty tucked away to keep as a useful universal tool
whether its a crappy plywood wall setup for moving to throw away
or time taken on the design something that's removable walls to stow

then you actually get to own something new with use
    or sell it
may not need registration, or is possible to (not stolen)

rather than Uhaul lighting money on fire getting nothing

says 2" ball (like uhaul) includes wiring, lights, chains
so it could be designed from the getgo to hit the road...
