I have some fake rubber snakes up in there already they work pretty well at tricking the birds into moving on to another spot

It’s a beast. It came with 2 down poles a 12 " and a 24" the 12 " was still to long for me so I cut it down to 6".

Finished building a little 4x8 Lowes kit shed - put it behind the garage where it's convenient to access, but out of the way. I had an 8x16 shed before, but it wasn't useful for the tractor (too heavy) and I never liked where it was on the property (zoning setbacks). Sold it to a friend for a steal, and used the money to do something just big enough for the rakes, shovels, push mower, weedwacker, etc. Basically just to keep the little stuff out of the garage.

I'm no carpenter and didn't think building something from scratch would go very well for me, so I went this route. I did add more studs, rafters, and floor joists so everything is 12" on center instead of 24".

I'm probably $1250 into it between the building, little bit of extra lumber, paint, shingles, padlock keyed to match the house, etc.

Made some progress, albeit a little slow. I've been bouncing back and forth between outdoor projects (spent 2 full days with a wood chipper lol) and have been sick for about 2 weeks. I was able to get the lower runs done, though!

The forum voted to just make one bank of cabinets a little wider than the other so the reveals on the ends are roughly the same. I stacked the two banks of carcasses on top of each other and you can see how one bank is about 1" wider than the other. No toe kick on these ones -- I guess that's tradition for book cases and makes it look a little more custom. I built-up the lower shelf so it's 1 1/2" taller than the baseboard still.
    IMG_0939.HEIC.jpg

Face frames were kind of tricky. I needed to build them in sets of two but wanted 1 1/2" stiles so I essentially needed to make the face frame exactly the width of 2 pieces of 3/4 sandwiched together and then install them flush. I used dominos for alignment on that. Also made it so I can dry-fit everything in the shop.
    IMG_0978.HEIC.jpg
    IMG_0989.HEIC.jpg

Because the face frames are flush it meant I had to use inset hinges for frameless cabinets -- kind of odd but if you make cabinets you know what I'm talking about. Not going to lie they're kind of a pain in the ass to install, but luckily they have 3-way adjustment.
    IMG_1028.HEIC.jpg

Install went surprisingly well but it just took forever. Both runs are plumb and coplanar from left to right. Finding exactly where to put each box along the wall was the most time consuming part -- I needed them to have a good reveal to the sides and to the pocket door.
    IMG_1052.HEIC.jpg

Face frame went on afterward but I detached the end stile so I could scribe it and then re-pocket screw it to the whole face frame assembly. The dominos made dry fitting really easy.
    IMG_1058.HEIC.jpg

Finally I hung all 8 doors, adjusted them, caulked the end (black colored caulking; I swear there isn't a massive gap there), and wood-filled my nail holes.
    IMG_1062 2.HEIC.jpg

I also got my countertops glued up and sanded. They're cut to rough size at the moment and will get a dado for the back of the upper units to slot into. The plan is to get upper material this week and start cranking. I think trim and paint will take the longest so I'm trying to rush through the uppers quickly.

    Hi everyone.
I've been getting a constant crack in the ceiling, got tired of fixing it so I did some investigative work.

It looks like the 1st day apprentice didn't quiet land the edge on the nailer.

I made a few nailer inserts and screwed them in between the joists. Plenty of surface area to catch a few screws.

I'm also trying to win the contest for the 'longest dragged out deck project'. I started on a few stair railing posts. I'm not liking these stairs very much, I can see them being replaced in the next few years so my motivation level isn't exactly high to complete these.

I had the same issue with the drywall in my garage a couple of years ago. Several joints were suspended and not screwed into anything. I taped and mudded from the top and bottom and used a few 1x4's for the drywall screws to bite into.
