I've had my Tacoma for a few months and its great. The only problem is I can't fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood between the wheel wells of the bed. Of course I can still carry it but that's not the point. Has anyone tried widening the tub or is there aftermarket support? I can't find anything on the forums or online.
    Thanks.

Remove the bed and put it to the curb; it’s flatbed time!

Why would you want to do this enough to make this worth the effort vs. other solutions? Why not just use a rack, or bars to hold a few sheets at or above tonneau level?

    - i guess for carrying often
    - i would just place and secure on top of my tonneau cover, but i don’t do this as often as you might be doing.

it won’t take many sheets to be above the recommended weight limits, btw

What’s keeping the rear 2x6 in place?
I guess there’s a whole bunch of ways it could be done, but curious how you did in case it was simpler or smarter

This looks like a pretty good idea, i may need to copy it!

There is a pre-molded groove there already in the 3rd gen. So, gravity keeps it there.

Make sure its a 2"x6" or 2 2"x4"s side by side in each groove or it will be too loose and slide around.

I use the 2x6s often for plywood and other stuff...

But I believe OP wants to fit the plywood sheets wide on the 8' side so he fills the whole freeway lane while driving down the road...

If you want the wheels/tires hanging out of the side and to cut the bed. Why not just use the board slots?

Pretty sure that’s what the bed slots for 2x6 is for. Plywood.

    or put a Ute tray.

No I need the enclosed bed.

I have a tonneau cover and I don't think any racks are available for it. Its the bakflip g2 and I would wreck it sliding wood on top.

Well I wanted to see if there were any easy solutions but I think I'll try the boards. I never noticed the slots for those.

Decked is expensive, but is also good for plywood and drywall.

I also use one of these bed extender things, Carry 10 ft steel out of the bed and 22 ft sticks of DOM on top.
