considerably cooler here today. tried on her coat last night and this morning. she doesnt like it much, and im not a fan of the color. she had so much hair chopped off we didnt want her to be shocked being cold.

 

this halter hardly fits her face as she's so small. just ordered one. tough to find stuff small enough. i was a snob and searched out one made in usa. yeah, its 4x the price but its my choice. all leather with brass fittings and name plate. hope it fits...

 

kinda fun learning this. gf was home but when i arrived oly went nuts! she was so happy. so i fed her the most favorite grain pellets then took her on 2 walks. im trying to follow gf's teaching skills. i swear olivia likes mine better. no mild biting today after scratching her well. shes accustomed to using both upper lip and teeth to groom another horse as the can pair up for that. when you scratch a dog they can kick legs. horses have their lips quiver and try to help. thats when i see her (accidentally) bite lightly.

 

im committed to this little bugger for the rest of my days. so i had some great dogs when i was young. but as an adult they are (ok) if theyre great. maybe i got an exceptional match with olivia...but i never felt feelings shown from an animal. or for one. its pretty cool. its like you can understand each other without speach. ill try it with gf next.

 

a completely bias opinion, but if you think dogs are rewarding life companions you should see what potential horse personalitys are.

 

my hope is to adopt one, (1) more for a buddy. 5? i would in a moment with sponsorship.

yeah! shes yet to ride in it. probably wont as shes the height of my step bars she had a good day and is better behaved as days pass. shes really itchy despite us shaving most of her dirty winter coat off. we are feeding her the exact stuff shes always had. im looking into allergy avenues just to rule it out.

 

i want to thank all of you tw folk for showing interest in this. i really appreciate. its like being a dad for the first time (which i know nothing about) but wanting to tell the world how happy you are

just bought posts and laterals for her pasture. 5" posts 3" horizontal. jigs to cut/join was 75$ on Amazon. farm supply store was 1250.00 delivered. should be about a 60x100' space to graze and run off steam. under 1600.00 for a pasture fence isnt too bad. puts this whole process under 9k.
my reason is i really dont have space for full sized horses but plenty by mini horse standards.

 

im not sure why but she lunged at gf and bit her above the knee. shes much more strict with behavior as myself. i can put her in a hug choke hold and she wont try that. im wondering if she likes me more based off gender? my gf is super sweet and soft spoken. maybe olivia is showing her lack of training /preference on whom she listens to.
