I think you still do not understand.

Increasing caster increases the restoring force causing the wheel to return to straight ahead. This causes the truck to be more stable when traveling in a straight line especially at high speeds.

You might have noticed this effect if you ever turned the steering wheel while moving, let go of it, and the truck returned to straight ahead.

This same increase in restoring force must be overcome when turning the truck, thus steering becomes harder/heavier.

However, the heavier steering may not be noticeable in a truck with power steering.

lol.. no brother.. I get it. I'm agreeing with you. I'm saying because we do in fact have power steering.. you dont feel the added force.. thus.. making for a lighter feel in steering when paired with the added caster (of it returning to center easier after turning and feeling more stable at speed, etc). Perhaps I shouldnt use the term lighter.. and instead.. say the drivability, especially steering input and response has improved with the positive caster.. maybe that translates to me as a "lighter" feel as I dont have to fight the wheels back to straight now with the positive caster.

Ok gotchya. I think my confusion is caused by the fact that you are using “lighter” and “responsive” to mean the opposite of what is typical. See Wikipedia article or any other on the topic.

The return to center and the control at speed make for a nicer driving experience. Wrong terminology I suppose, but I do know what it felt like before and now after and it just "feels lighter" while driving.

Right now I’m eyeing the Falken Wildpeak at4/w and Kenda Klever M/T, 315/75/16s.

it’s a shame that I don’t have 17” wheels. There are some nice tires in that size. I’d like to have ATs, since I do have to occasionally commute to work, and the closest off road places are 2+hours drive away.

The kenda klever RT in 35x10.5R17s are legit, only downside is the weight.

    That’s what I’ve read :annoyed:

Unfortunately, I can’t get away with buying new wheels and tires lol. Maybe I’ll keep an eye out for cheap 17” take offs but I think with most OEM 17s I’d have to figure out spacers that would work too.

If someone local wanted to trade my BR6s for the Rock Warrior wheels, then I’d get into the 17s lol.

The 4Runnder TRD pros wheels are perfect for the skinny 35s. They're what I'm running.

Those look good too! I really need to make sure I know what I want to do before I do it. My wife’s hates when I rebuy something I’ve already bought for my truck

She’s been trying to talk me out of 35s since ide need to cut and trim things.

As much as I like the 35s, I'm probably going to switch back to a 33 soon.

Why’s that? I still have time before I buy tires, maybe still time I can be convinced either way. I had been looking to replace my current 255/85/16s with 285/75/16 before I really started considering 35s. Only downside, besides cutting is that it would probably be a while before I regeared.

Primarily weight. A few companies make SL 285/70r17's that don't weigh much more than the stock tires, couple that with lighter weight wheels and you get 33s for only a handful of lbs more than the stock combo.

The kenda 35s have gone over or through everything I have asked them to without even the suggestion that they'd lose traction.

Was there still a lot of trimming with the “skinny” 35s and those wheels? I’m definitely expecting to trim just curious

@Backdoc heres the thread you wanna look at. Check out the first post by @JoeCOVA he does a really great job for the minimum needed to fit 35s.

You were going to regear right?

hope that you are able to get some time sooner or later.

You don’t need to regear, just does help lol. If I remember right you have someone local that could do your gears, right? If not I got a quote for labor from a place in Westminster or Frederick, 1500$ for labor

    as nice as this sounds
Is it even possible after all the mods done to fit 35

    for example,
    -fenders trim
    -bumper trim
    -lift

or will it look bad with a mile long gap around smaller tire

despite all that including a big 2” taken off the fenders that STILL rubs, the gap already looks big
