Not fair, someone found a 2015 with less miles than mine

10 years old. Only issue in the 60,000 miles was a front brake caliper which i replaced myself. two of the piston boots were torn and water/salt caused pistons to seize. Last brake service was done by dealer who i am convinced was responsible.

Picture was taken in November of 2024 with its replica rims and snow tires...
Being retired now I am only averaging 2500 miles a year now so barring a write off a it will outlive me.

If you don't get a 3rd party to inspect the truck. At least have the dealer put it on the lift for you, so you or your mechanically inclined friend can check underneath it with a flashlight.

Suggest you get the Toyota owner's app and and add the trucks VIN to it. It will give you the specific specs of the vehicle and will show any service performed by/at a Toyota dealership. When I did this (after I purchased it) it filled a big gap in the service record history that came with the truck. This was good, because the majority of it indicated synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles for most of it's first seven years of ownership. It also had some service and oil change info for oil changes at franchise oil-change places.

With the low mileage of the truck you are looking at, I wouldn't expect any red flags. Only thing as others have mentioned, it may have been sitting or seldom driven for some reason. Check the underside of the oil-fill cap and remove the engine cover and look for acorns or evidence of rodent/critter damage. A peek at the engine air and cabin filter should tell you a lot as well.

I purchased my 2014 in 2021 with 104k on it (+- 12k/yr) and it has been flawless: Current mileage: 130k.

I appreciate everyone’s help here! I ended up purchasing the truck a couple weeks ago. It’s in amazing condition inside and out including the frame which is impressive considering I got it in New Hampshire. It was very well maintained and came with detailed service records. I entered the VIN on Toyota’s website like you guys suggested and everything looked great. I’ve already put almost 1k miles on it and I’m loving it.
    Thanks again guys.

Beautiful truck. I'd recommend getting a local Toyota dealership to inspect the frame though since they have experience with corrosion that non salt belt dealerships do not. Then, get the frame coated with an oil-based corrosion inhibitor product and enjoy the truck!

I’m actually located in central PA but I couldn’t ignore this tacoma with just under 15k miles on it. Made a 14 hour round trip to pick it up lol. I was specifically looking for a 2015 double cab 4x4 and the only options close to me had 90,000-130,000 for the same price I paid for mine.
