So good that you located one. When I had a horse mine retired & kinda left me scrambling for awhile. Horse people are pretty well connected gettin’ the word out.

 

thanks for posting! im pretty virgin to this but gf knows how most of this works. ferrier got her tuned up last week and we have an 8 week deal 60$ not bad. now we are sourcing new diet as i...we believe she has a food allergy to her omeline. makes her itchy real bad. my hunch. try to get her the best without reactions. new challenge! for a monthly ownership cost my estimate is about 120$ not terrible as a teenage kid is like 250 for just food.

 

compared to big horses this one is cheap on food considering she eats more than sleeps. at this rate she eats 50$ of orchard hay in 3 months. thats 2 bales. i spend more on beer in a week

 

You need to get a set of insulated saddle bags so while you're out working in the pasture she can carry your beer.

 

Please don't take this the wrong way... I'm not here to judge. Lord knows I have my demons...

If getting stoned and drunk is a chronic habit and taking on a horse is a sort of distraction, to take your mind off things; it's not sustainable. I'll just leave it at that.

If not; I think it's a sweet jesture and you're gf is lucky to have you.

i do appreciate your comment to my honesty. no offense taken. im a really happy dude with a most wonderful life. im really happy and at a point where i can care for a pet like this so i got worked up and pulled the trigger. got to get back on the barn roof now to make some more progress.

 

got the pasture fence marked out and delivery scheduled. she will have a huge green run with enough room for another if i can find one. this pic only shows 1/2 of what i have planned for the inital pasture.

 

Doesn’t take ‘em long to get established as one of the family. Horses are pretty smart.

 

no shit. shes very fast learning despite having almost no teaching. reason i took 3 days off after getting her. wanted to establish a normalicy she could get used to.

 

so we both agree we have to change her vitamin deal as she appears to have chronic itchy. her breeder fed her same and thought she had lice. not the case. hours after meal time shes pretty fine telling me once digested shes out of the red zone. all guesses as we dont have a 24-7 vet but i bet we can figure it out.

 

So kinda like what you said earlier. Everything you own needs Premium Fuel.

if i find a way to get her liscensed as a therapy/ service animal as a tax break that would be great as thats her purpose. then hopefully i could adopt a 2nd. especially if it was an emergency placement for an abused or neglected animal. you know, have space for ones in need of a good home. id love to help out like that.

 

did you know horses have 350* of vision without moving their head? slight blind spot true center and behind with just eye movement. about 65* of this is with both eyes. pretty impressive.
