Do you feel the same about all cars, trucks and suvs above 65k? Or just a Toyota product? Toyota makes other products above 65k. I guess people buying a Lexus is throwing away money too.

It’s undeniably a good truck regardless of price, but for now I’m content living vicariously through others.

As has been true for years, you can configure an expensive Tacoma Off-road, too. The OR below has a $1300 tonneau cover the Pro doesn’t. But the Pro has other goodies the OR doesn’t.

Toyota produces very limited amount of Pros every year, they are not expecting to sell a lot of this. Since they are limited in number, nothing wrong to maximize the profit. It will still be hot and hard to get. TRD pros, especially Tacoma and 4R, are like investment here, they hold the resell value like no other, it will lucky to get one here.

    https://www.deepsentinel.com/blogs/most-stolen-cars/

The most stolen are usually the most popular. Because of demand for parts. I think that is what you are saying? Unsure. Also, easy of theft plays into it as well. Explains Kia. So easy, someone steals your Kia you just steal the next one. Circle jerk.

Anyone on the list have an actual bill of sale, vin # and deposit down? Without that, it is a dream list you are on!

Of course! Hoping my dream comes true. Someday. Maybe next year. Seems my dealership may be on Toyota's shit list. I hear games can be played like that.

no doubt.. Toyota may require a dealer to take other less desireable Toyota products to obtain a Pro or Trail Hunter or even meet certain monthly Toyota sales volume requrirements.

That is likely true. But, also in '18 my dealer was the highest volume dealer in my state. It won a supreme court decision to move closer to a city center over the objections of other dealers. Fast forward to my latest search. The allocation list on the 4G combined with my driveby visits show nada. Nothing. Even cars. While I hear stories of other dealers filling up. Seems I chose the wrong horse. Story of my life.

Edit: Must of pissed off the other dealers so much. They closed access to my dealer's entrance on the highway to that same city center. There even used to be a traffic light there. No more. LOL. The games being played behind the scenes.

60k plus for a midsize truck is definitely not worth the price

Do you do mods to your taco?

This was my thought. If I was to get an OR it would be the premium with the disconnects. I don’t like the wheels on the OR so I would need to spend money to get new wheels. Getting new wheels I might as well get new tires. If I’m getting new tires i might as well get something a little bigger so I would need a lift also. I don’t do spacer lifts so I would be looking at 10k in some Kings or Dobinsons or something. You ad all that up I would be around $65k anyway.

sure paying interest on wheels and a lift can be argued. But if I buy a Pro it’s all under warranty.

In my mind, the TRD Pro is not “just a truck.” It’s a badass truck loaded with killer options and stuff.
