Redarc has a great install vid and they get great reviews, so I am definitely going with their fridge kit. It'll be a minute before I order because I just ordered the Cascadia VSS Hood solar panel. It might be overkill, but I think having solar power will be worth it in the long run. They are OOS and I figured I should get in line.

I go in for a physical once a year. That's how my bad heart valve was discovered.
Now days physicals are not what they use to be. My last one I didn't even have to take my shoes or shirt off.

V6's rarely sound good, especially with cheap aftermarket mufflers. I've heard a few Nissans that sounded pretty bad ass, but they probably had some really nice mufflers.

The weird thing is the I6's tend to sound very good, IMO.

They could check his pulse with his pants off, too. I mean, where is the fun in it otherwise?

Seriously just kidding. I scheduled an appointment with my PCP next week for the first time in a few years and I'm sure these comments will come back to me in karma. Not excited.

Once you stop moving, things go downhill quick. It’s amazing the difference 20-30 minutes a day can make

Any solar panel will lose some efficiency if it’s covered. A bit of dust isn’t gonna make much difference. If it’s coated, just wipe it off quick when you fill up with gas and are cleaning windows anyway.

One reason why I walk trash out to the dumpster and climb on the trucks to get things instead of waiting for someone else.

That is the reason that when many older folks have an injury that compromises mobility like a broken hip, they never recover.

All this talk about physicals… I have a stress test first thing Monday. Guess they are finally getting interested in my ticker. If those water crossings didn’t get my stress up I can’t imagine they can even get close

after that off to Virginia for a third interview at a school near Richmond…

I had my annual physical the week after we got back from Arkansas. Don't recall if I mentioned it here or not, but in Arkansas I had to stop the group for a bit on a trail when I looked down and saw a tick digging into my forearm. Jonathan helped me get it out with his Tick Key (I've since bought one for myself) but part of the head stayed in there, even after digging around with a tweezers back at camp.

Anyway, back to the doctor... he wasn't terribly concerned since I didn't have the bullseye rash or any other effects from it, but he included a Lyme test in my regular blood work. Well, it actually came back positive initially, so he put me on some nasty antibiotics that made me pretty sick to my stomach. A second more thorough test from some lab in Utah came back negative, but the doc still wanted me to finish the 10 day supply of the antibiotics for the bite site. I think I did 2 more days and said F this.

All of my other blood work came back fine. I have high cholesterol and a bunch of other health issues in my family that my doc keeps an eye on for me. So far, so good, other than some spinal/nerve issues that I manage with meds for now, but will probably need the spine surgeries my mom has had at some point in the next 2 to 10 years.

Moral of the story is yes, definitely get the annual prodding and probing, especially if you have health issues in your family. My genes may not be top shelf, but at least we can monitor stuff as I get higher in mileage.
