    what is different about them from the oem plugs?

    after a terrible spat with an older chrysler trying to run the 'E3' plugs, i always run oem plugs, as the ignition system is designed for that plug. changing the plugs without the rest of the ignition system spark/power/duration/timing tends to screw with things.

    Not an after market item, according to Denso it's a newer style of plug.

    Others have used this type of plug with no issues. It's just iridium vs platinum. I believe it's the same heat range as the OEM.

    icon stage 10 kit, toytec 1" bl, 35" general x3s, 17x9.5 procomp wheels, locker anytime mod, s&b intake, blackhawk 2.1 tune,
    that probably wasnt because of running aftermarket plugs. that was because of those e3 plugs specifically. the single worst spark plug ever created.

    correct, but the point still stands-- just blindly throwing in 'newer/better/stronger/bigger' plugs like i did back then resulted in poor performance and reliability problems. there's a whole science to spark plugs that needs to be understood to start changing things, and if one is unwilling to understand the science, as i am currently, it's best to stick with what came oem with the truck if possible.

    The 4.0 major issues with iridium plugs. Idled poorly, mileage lost, some threw codes. Even changing coils didn’t help.

    These multiple electrode plugs are BS

    Yes, the engine is different but I’m trying to help a guy with a 3rd gen. He’s having the exact same damn problems. He’s trying to run the 4705. multiple electrode, larger than factory gap, it doesn’t always work well.

    3491 is not the factory plug. The factory plug is a platinum single electrode
