Yup. Once he sends a pic of the title in his name, I'll be omw first day off that works, if he accepts my offer.

I can only recommend, fall in love with the bike model, not the individual bike. There'll always be another one, don't get so laser focused on that one you spend more than you should

Oh, for sure. Similar bikes are priced several thousand higher. I have a limit.

Good luck!! I hope it all works out for you.
I sold my canopy off my truck and a guy offer 100 over what I was asking and he went right to the front of the line. He did buy it and paid the price he said.

Spent a few hours Saturday servicing the relay arm on the 2013 FJR. It's probably the least pleasant maintenance item on those bikes and often ignored. What makes it miserable is that you must have a way to suspend the bike from above in order to remove the center stand so you can remove the relay arm. As built on the assembly line the 4 bolts attaching the center stand are installed with the bolts going in towards center from the outside. Problem is that when the exhaust is installed further down the line two of those 4 bolts can no longer be removed unless removing the exhaust system. Hot ticket is to remove the 2 bolts you can access, loosen the 2 you can't, push them out then use a sawzall to cut off the bolt heads and when putting it back together install new bolts pointed the other way. Little over 3 hours but that job is done!

Parents needed the whole garage for a week so I moved all my bikes outside, and man is it cool to have them all in one spot and lined up!

Yamaha actually calls for it to be serviced every 16k miles which is crazy. I could understand if you ride in the rain a lot, it you live somewhere they salt or brine the roads in the winter and you ride through that stuff, or maybe live near the ocean where the salt air might have some affect. There is a guy on the FJR forum who will sell you a modified relay arm with zerk fittings so it can all be done with a grease gun. It's a little pricey but has all new bearings, seals, and spacers and that stuff adds up fast. 3 of the 4 areas can be done with the bike on the centerstand so I try to hit those 3 which are also the most exposed at least each season. I feel confident now that front location can go a couple of seasons without worry.

Might try and get out on the bike for a few even with the gout in the right foot. Will have to pay attention and prepare to fall over to the right if it hurts too bad.

Never had gout but heard it’s painful. My grandpa used to get it.

Oh yeah, it can suck! Doc. told me several years ago, once you get it, you will always have it. The grout (as I call it, cause it’s what it feels like in between the bones in the big toe) can flair up anywhere between 6-8 months apart. I have done a good year plus before. This just blows ass when I was supposed to go on a motorcycle trip with @gixxerphil @Modern.Hermit and a few others. Story of my life.

Look into Dr. Ken Berry about gout. No promise it'll work, but it's worth a shot.

So, I just checked my email and the seller got back to me. He said my offer is "very attractive" and will reach out once he has the title.

    This makes me hopeful. :fingerscrossed:

Not to be insensitive, as I'm sure it sucks, but every time I hear gout I can't help but think of the King of the Hill episode where Bobby discovers a deli in the mall and eats so many fatty liver sandwiches he gets it. One of my favorite episodes

It's the "relay" arm part of the suspension linkage?

Other than a quick ride to a buddies 2mi down the road on the XT225 there was no legit motorcycle ride for me today... Him and I did get out on a 60 or so mi loop through the hills and back PCH yesterday.

But I did get out on the boatercycle this morning! (it rides absofuckinlutly NOTHING like a motorcycle lol)

That's the one. Two sets of needle bearings at each pivot point, oil seals outboard of those bearings, and a polished spacer in the middle of each that the attaching bolt passes through. 3 on the relay arm and one on the swing arm that each need greased periodically. Manual calls out every 16k miles. Some FJR owners noted there was not a lot of grease on them. This 2013 surprised me in that they still had a reasonable amount still present at 60k miles.
