Finally got time to install my rough country front bumper and honestly I feel like I have been ran over by my truck. Nearly every welded nut had weld splatter and the friggin skid plate is ridiculous. Five bolts across the front and two in the back. All of them had screwed up weld nuts. I ended up using the factory skid plate. If anyone would like a free RC skid just hit me up but do not expect an help installing the thing. I was concerned that the cutting would be the issue but it wasn’t bad. Overall I love the look but the simple build quality sucked.

Had a fun time install new leaf springs & ubolt flip (by Archive Garage).

Little story: I was going to try to do this in my garage (because it was going to rain a little bit and my driveway as a little slope to it). As I was backing up I realized it would be a tight fit, and due to the lift, probably wouldn't be able to get it back out. Luckily my brother-in-law lives close by, so I packed up my tools and went over there. It did rain, but it wasn't enough to stop me. As I got setup, I realized I needed an extended socket to take the factory ubolts off. I borrowed a car and went to the hardware store and grab one... as soon as I got back I realized I grabbed the wrong size. Back to the store to get the correct size. Took me quite a while to do the first side (passenger) and then did the other side in like a 1/4 amount of time. I was pretty sore due to lifting and trying to position the springs. :) Took longer than I thought, but I finished in a day; so that's a big win.

Here is the old and the new leaf spring. I was surprised to see that the old leaf spring had a shape to it, because it was totally flat on the truck.

    Been SUPER busy.
Washed the truck and rotated the tires, found the rear passenger rear shock leaking.
I got these new from shock surpluss March of 2022.
Fixing my girlfriends HRV I crashed . New subframe/ passenger side axle/oilpan/.
Runs and drove 1/4 mile. Not 100% but a step in the right direction. Insurance said I wasn't on policy so it's not covered.
A moderator here that doesn't drive a tacoma deleted my original thread on that.

Installed a new gas tank and upgraded head on the mini-bike I had sitting around.

Going to contact Shocksurplus and see if I can warranty my 2 year old shock. It's 90% street use. The drivers side In the last picture is fine.

    Pictures because Internet.

Exercised the winch today so that it probably doesn't get used at all off-roading / camping this summer. At least I have peace of mind that it should work if needed.

Then I pulled the tear drop out of the garage. Rotated the tires, greased, checked the drum brakes were properly adjusted. Everything looks good to go. Just need to check all the camping gear now. I'm hopeful to get myself to just needing to pack food and clothes and be out the door this year. I'm close, but there are a few kitchen things I need to get. Iceco dual zone is on the way so that's one less prep item needed.

If colorado decides it wants to be spring/ summer instead of winter in two weeks, going to try to get out camping somewhere in the low country.

Just installed my AVS deflector. I think it looks good! Just need to get a few new roof drip moldings now to really make it pop.

i bet the shock shaft has rock chips in it that ruined the seal. its super exposed on the drivers side. shock boots are a must in stock location imo

Pretty good MPG for 33's with armor/winch!

Just was cruising at 63mph behind a big rig on flat ground.

Coincidentally, I opened up the softopper. I wonder if that made a difference...

    I usually get around 17-19mpg

i thought they came with boots tbh.

just went googling and looks like bilstein were hit or miss on sending kits out with boots. any universal 2" body shock boot in the right length would work.
