Rotated the tires on my 2013 TRD Sport and noticed my drivers inside brake pad is basically completely gone :( Passenger side look better but also has some uneven wear...

This is only after about 40,000km. My last set of pads also didn't last as long as they probably should have (but certainly longer than this).

Do I need to get new calipers or can these be re-built/fixed to stop this from happening?

    Thanks for the help!

    Jay

If the pistons move freely, id say you dont need new calipers but prob need slide pins cleaned and lubed or replaced

Clean and lube slide pins. Also be mindful of the space, or lack thereof, between the ends of the pad and the caliper housing. Just did a set that I had to touch up the edges of the pads on a grinder to ensure no contact with the caliper.

This, Along with the cleaning the whole caliper inside where the pads ride.
You might also consider running 2 brake springs per caliper.
But, in reality, if you have to run 2 springs, "you still have an issue".
But it can buy you time and prolong the pad life a little bit.

Thats a lot of caked on debris on that thing! I would start with a good cleaning and cehcking/greasing your slide pins.

My passenger side looks like yours, but the driver's side is even. I bought the truck used with nearly 41,000 miles on it and it now has about 118,000 miles. I plan to replace the pads, rotors, slide pins, and return springs soon. As soon as the ambition kicks in.
