Local dealer says my fuel line's got "evidence of wear" and needs to be replaced...for the price of a small house. 70K miles on the truck; dealer says, "common in older trucks." Makes no sense; never had this issue in ANY vehicle I've owned with that low mileage, Toyota or other. Dealer says it's "common due to ethanol in gas" - I've never run E15 in it.

    Is this common?
    Thanks.

Nope; bought in FL panhandle new; never even traveled to rust belt states; FL, GA, and western SC only.

    No.

My whole truck shows signa of wear.
Dealer would probably advise to replace as well.

    Yeah.
Um, what? Never heard of that. Rubber ages and cracks, but it usually takes a lot longer. I'd ask for pictures of this wear.

Your Spidey senses are going off for a reason.
Another thing to check- IF there is damage to the fuel lines, IF,,, did they replace the fuel pump under recall? Could be whoever did the work damaged it.

I would crawl under and look for myself.
    What problems brought you in?

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
For years, all vehicles have been built to use up to 15% ethanol. Dealer is trying to pull a fast one.
