Catalytic Converter shields?

Mine is a second gen stick shift, do you have an shield for those?

 

i did not even notice you were 2nd gen and i suspect others did not as well.
i am sure you are welcome here but this is 3rd gen and wouldn't you get a more relevant response in 2nd gen forum?

 

The popular ones are:

• Cat Shield by Miller Cat
• Talons Garage
• Cat Security

I see Cali Raised now makes them as well. They look unique but don't know much about them.

I went with Talon's garage because it appears more durable than others for off-roading. Not as good as a skid plate but beefier than the others.

All have pros and cons on installation you really just have to dig in and research them and watch youtube videos.

 

No catalytic converter guards can guarantee they will not be stolen. But by making your truck harder to steal from most people will likely move on to the high-clearance truck with no guards.

lol. i did exactly this for my 3rd gen in the 2nd gen forum a while ago. not sure how i wound up there. probably chasing links and not noticing where i landed.

 

We have one for the 2rd gen, but have not figured out if our full skid package will fit.

If you have a 5 lug base model it will not fit.

Just received my order. Tempted to have the open seem on them welded up. What are you guys that have the Cali Raised thoughts on this...

 

Personally I think you are overthinking it. A thief is simply going to move onto an easier target. They want quick. Them inspecting the shields, figuring out a weak point, and bending it apart at the seem or cutting it out adds time and increases odds of getting caught.

 

We totally agree! At the end of the day there is no permanent fix to this issue. Our cat shields act as a deterrent!
