Ok but I’ll have to move first so I have a shop large enough to park it

There’s been a few that have gotten through with motorcycles. Back in the day I went to a talk by Helge Pederson who talked about his trip through with his BMW. Have his book somewhere with pictures.

It was basically no different than walking through the darien gap with a motorcycle shaped anchor.

In the spirit of this thread's title......is switching to a 20lb propane tank overkill? I don't mind the extra space it will take up and Ignik has a cool padded jacket/carrier for them.

But for the same price altogether there's the smaller 10lb kit.

Trying to future-proof and have not seen much of any 20lb tanks being mounted to swing outs.

I think @pearing's winning this and I'm just going to have to flatbed it lol

With either option the plan is to re-fill at U-Haul since they refill any size.

I'm just getting tired of all the small green bottles piling up in my garage :anonymous:

A little while back, Matt from Matts Off Road Recovery mentioned that a group got 3 Corvairs through the Darien Gap in the '70's. I haven't looked to verify that. No matter, the cost of shipping both ways is not in the budget.

I did cancel my order for the solar panel. That frees up $800. If I can't get to S. America, I won't need it.

I have a false memory of learning to shoot at the forklift tanks in the Golden Eye game but it might have been the remake instead

Edit : I stand corrected. Wikipedia says GoldenEye: Rogue Agent has no relation to the movie or original game. It was still good though.

Yes,that is true about the Corvairs.
When Mark Smith took his Jeeps through they found one.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I think I have a couple of nearly empty 20# tanks around here somewhere. If you want one, just say the word.

#20 makes sense for long trips. I cook for the crew and use two stoves. I have a little #7 or #10 pounder that i use for my trips unless it’s empty and I just take the big one. They are heavy and require room. I used to carry it on a swing away

also not always way to get that little on filled but always able to find a 20

You ever wonder why those panels cost so much just look up Suniva tariff and see what one failing company did to the entire panel market.

I worked for a contractor that installed Canadian Solar cells back like 12 years ago. Got priced out by the bigger cheaper stuff.

The quality of the modules and whatever you use for storage is what you really want to pay attention to. Any dumb monkey can make a panel.

Setting up rigging and getting them onto rooftops was the trick.
