So, looks like I won the bike. :bananadance:

This was our talk on payment methods and settling on a check from my bank.

    Um... :anonymous:

It's going to be a turn and burn kind of trip. The buddy who is helping me travel has a small window to do it in.

With all that highway riding you have done, what do you find is your average mpg (hand calculated) if you have done such? And what speeds do you cruise at on the open highway.

Reason why I ask is I dont actually do long straight roads hardly ever, Its either wacky twisties up in the high elevations of the sierra nevada mtns, or very agressive riding, so i really havent gotten a feel for its true highway mpg.

Fuely puts the bike in the low 40s IIRC, but I don't know how solid that site is for a bike.

Not that I wouldn't like to, but I'm a super noob and the time crunch with my buddy's schedule will be rough.

Had some reward points sitting idle. Spent just under $5 out of pocket :p
Folding shifter, for a KLX 300, but it fits the Verysys perfect.

The extra space gave my toe a bit more room.

    Nelson Rigg Hurricane bag.

Just need the mtn snow to melt enough to open the roads.

Sourced a +3” clutch cable from the UK. It was $85 shipped where Motion pro wanted $109 + shipping.

That would seem around about right, but it's highly dependent on speed, bike goes into open loop fueling (richer than 14.7 stoich) at right around 72ish mph (4k rpms in 6th) under light throttle... I really wish it was up around the 85mph mark at light throttle input that it did this but... Reliability.

I see about 35-38mpg in most of my riding but it's riding lots of quick elevation gain from sealevel to 2k ft and aggressively. I have seen like low 50s at consistent elevation over 4k ft and cruising 2up at 60 n under.

Fiiiiiiiiiine.... I understand. (Please pick my brain on super tenere stuff if you wish I love it! )

Gotta love RMATVMC! Man I really like that color.

I have had same happen from time to time... Even with quicker shipping from halfway across the world lol.

Believe me, if I had more time I would have taken you up on your generous offer to go through it before I truck it home. Timing just isn't working out for it, though.

I'll have to get a list of stuff together to go through and either do it or have it done, but I'm juggling the logistics right now. Possibly going to use my buddy's truck with a ramp or loading dock to put it in the bed to avoid the trailer in LA mess. Another option is a one way uhaul from cali back to Wyoming. Third option is hauling my trailer down and back.

One way uhaul OUT of CA in ANY capacity is like 3x the price of the opposite direction... hmm wonder why *rolls eyes* So I doubt that would be economical. If you arent comfortable loading up a heavy ass bike into the bed of a truck and already have a trailer bring that. Realistically from the direction of travel you are coming you wont have much if any at all "LA Traffic" Travels as you will be coming down into the area via the 15 freeway over the cajon pass unless im totally mistaken as far as your route. Red area is the major shit show of no go zone.

    upload_2024-4-29_20-44-54.png

If you have a long enough ramp (6ft) you can load the tenere no problems in a bed if you back up to a solid curb and dont have a super tall lifted truck and have a step stool.

Just note to bring some soft ties to be able to go around the forks just above the LOWER triple and have solid tie points DOWN LOW in whatever truck or trailer (IE front bed bolts with D rings on the tacoma). You DO NOT want to tie down via the bars on the super tenere as the bar mount to top triple on the 2014+'s have a rubber bushing vibration isolator so the bars have all sorts of flex that dont lend to be used as a tie down point (nor do the fairings for strap clearance if you were to use the bars like you would a dirtbike anyways). I use the "around the forks just above the lower triple" as my main strapping point then end up going a secondary clamshell style strap around crash bars straight down as well if strapping points allow.

Speaking of the 2014+ handle bar vibration isolators... if you find yourself a bit weirded out / annoyed with the forward and back movement of the bars due to the isolators I have a quick and easy fix to this with some big rubber fender washers I have a bunch of and can send you.

This is all gold! I didn't know you can't strap to the bars. If you have time, would you take pics pointing out where you tie yours down?

I should get a mod to change the title to "Super Teneres, and other bikes" because we've kinda hijacked the thread. Lol
