    your call but there’s options.

-they make a black outside Reflectix for hidden
-remora off road makes camper shell side window gear mounts
-other places shovel can be put
-fire extinguisher I have them at front seat rails with holders

    approx height 6’
    My bed 5’
Had full platform slept diagonal. Eventually got 4” foam and cut it to put diagonal no complaints
Surplus store had big sheets of it in different sizes. Thought about trying 1” 2” or 3”, but 4” seemed most popular

Get a cold chisel and hammer, tap on the plug a few times before starting. I did this to my front diff drain plug. Came out really easy with the chisel.

I definitely want to black out the reflectix. Moving some gear around would be nice too. I have a 4 inch foam pad under that sleeping bag. It did alright. I don't sleep back there very often though.

Two mufflers and a resonator there, then there are two more mufflers after the axle. So a total of four mufflers and one resonator

good thing is a roll of silver one is like $10 at Home Depot

I think the black sided one on Amazon only costs a bit more and comes longer roll more material

I thought about painting, tape, or upholstering silver but gave up on that

old ones I cut over size around the windows to Velcro onto the shell headliner so I could peel them back for window venting

curtains on top of that would be nice to peel back more still blocking light

now have to figure out how to do something like that with a Softopper

Got the AMP Powersteps working again :) they're kind of cool! Never had Steps before on a truck. Thinking of leaving unpowered until roof rack goes on and kayak loading will be nice :) only issue was the controller was fried. Now I have an extra motor :jpow:

How much was it roughly to have your cap color matched? I just got a Spruce Mica 2nd gen with a silver cap this weekend and am way out of touch with the price of paint work these days lol

What did I do to my 2nd gen today? I bought one lol

Specifically I bought the one that made me fall in love with Tacoma's, my grandpas '14 Spruce Mica (my favorite color of any Tacoma).
I have had two different 3rd gens over the years but am really loving the simplicity and build quality of the 2nd gen. I'd be curious if anyone else has gone from a 3rd gen as their daily driver to a 2nd gen?

First few projects will be wheels and tires, I have this set of 17'' 4runner spare wheel steelies with a new set of coopers on them, trying to decide if they will fit/look right. Does anybody know where I could find a hub cover to fit these rims? Struggling to find anything out there.

Also trying to decide if I want to paint the cap to color match the truck. IMG_5744.jpg

the center cap for a tacoma should fit if an OEM wheel, or even the FJ center cap.

YES. Had an 87 (pre-gen) then a 1st gen and then a 2nd gen. I bought a new 3rd gen 2016 Sport and sold my 2nd gen (with only 58k miles). I soon realized that I sold the wrong truck. I kept the 3rd gen 5.5 years and sold it with only 25k miles. Bought a 2012 SR5 and within 30 days I bought a 2008 Off Road with only 83k miles. After 3 years I couldn't be happier. Sold my son the 2012 and my 2008 will last me forever and it now has nearly 88k miles on it. The 2012 now has over 180k miles and runs like new. Wish my 2008 was spruce mica. That and pyrite mica are my 2 favorite colors. I am also a huge fan of access cabs. combined pix.jpg

This is awesome! I also much prefer the AC for most things. Pyrite Mica is also my 2nd favorite color - sharp trucks!

I was quoted $600 a couple years ago, I've heard the cost of materials has increased a lot since then so I don't know how accurate that is anymore. I know entire truck paint jobs are getting pricey, mines in the shop now for some paint work.

ordered four quarts of Raptor bed liner in black last night after sanding the topper for about 4-5 hours. Pretty sure I’ll only need two but the 4qt kit with the spray gun was at a good price and has alot of favorable DIY reviews. There are also quite a few utube videos with prep and application tips/tricks. Hoping to shoot it friday at my works shop so it can stay inside til monday morning.

put a bed rack over Softopper with gas strut doors

working on figuring out better axe and shovel placement
They hit too close at the center rack holes (drilled from factory for rotopax) and don’t stick out enough due to not having any risers for the quickfists

not a fan of drilling extra holes so thinking about bolting a MOLLE panel to the existing door holes and attach whatever however to that…maybe…

threw axe and shovel on roof rack to get it out of bed but it’s ugly there like that IMO

    Nice bed rack.
What prefilter is that you have on your snorkel? Link?
