That is a very solid pour. I always try to have one in my cabinet.

Been a while. My favorite Japanese whisky - or rather, 'Japanese' whisky.

Haven't seen it in my county for 2 years. @Hook78 snagged me one about 6mo ago to keep me going, to my eternal gratitude. Then I luckily stumbled on a case-worth on the shelf of an ABC in a county I'm frequently in/traveling through and took 2 of them with me.

They seem hard to come by. I saw it but decided not to pick up since I have not heard to much about it and the price was out there for me to justify as a sampler.

Running through Costco today I saw they had blade and bow at a sub 40 dollar price. My brother mentioned he had picked up a few while in Lexington a few years back. He was missing two keys so I snagged one of the ones he needed. Anyone had any of this juice? At that price I almost grabbed all five keys but couldn't justify that without tasting it. Will review later tonight

Good, I bought a bottle and went through it a year or two ago. It’s a little low on proof for me but certainly tasty. Maybe a good summer drinker.

I thought it is a decent pour. I've got my second key, and can see eventually collecting all five.

I've been wanting to try the soft red wheat, and picked up a bottle myself today. I also got the Rickhouse proof for $65. I thought the extra heat for $9 was a good deal. If I like it I think I'll go back for the BiB. I think the blend is interesting that the BiB was all from one floor vs the Rickhouse is a real blend of several different houses and floors.

    Blade and Bow review

Sweet fruit on the nose and pallate smooth easy drinker. No burn, finishes with a spice note maybe cinnamon. Decent mouth feel. Lingers only for a moment but not super complex.

My mom is visiting and asked for a mixed drink. It is very nice for an old fashioned as well.

We had salmon for dinner. I wish I had done a bourbon brown sugar glaze instead of the season blend we chose. Probably would have been a solid pairing

Blade and Bow has been one of my favorites so far. Easy drinker, smooth, and butter scotch was the prominent flavor for me.

Ben Holladay/Frey Ranch/13th Colony/Dettling I will buy again, and again. All offer really good value for the money, unique flavors, and you aren't paying $150 for yet another MGP derivative. I don't mind MGP brands if finished right...but I would much rather spend less money on a distiller that does their own distilling, and has the potential to really move into some new territory. I can only sit around so long and wait for a double the MSRP bottle of EH Taylor to come around every now and again.
