Still remember mine. Mom said, “Your dad wants to talk to you in the garage”. So I went on out there & asked “You wanna talk to me”? He said, “Yes, you’re old enough now son, I don’t want you to bring no shame to this family…get it.”
Life hasn’t been the same since.

 

My dad never spoke a word of it to me.

 

Don’t think he wanted to either. Mom likely caught the word & put ‘em up to it. Talked about fishing mostly, same thing really.

He's got what I didn't have

 

He's almost as tall as his coach on the left side. Lacks an inch of being as tall as me.

 

He is a good looking fellow, I can see him being mistaken for a late teen there.

 

He's a foot taller than most of the 12 year olds we are around.

 

My kids are 20 and 18. I'm dreading the day one of them comes home and calls me grandpa.

Under the category of "this is why I can't have nice things", I bought a pair of Keen sandals for our trip last January. I've been eyeballing a new pair of work boots and decided on a pair of Keens. Bought the same size as the sandals.

Not even remotely the same sizing.

I think I was well past puberty when my father asked, "Do you have any questions?" My response was, "No" and that was that...
