Wow, we'll I wasn't expecting to replace the tires this quick. I'm pretty much a road only driver. Very little off roading in NJ for me so far, but hoping to get out a bit in the future for camping in NJ/PA/NY this year.

I called Goodyear and it looks like I can bring them to their authorized tire dealers nearby, they will inspect, and GY will credit a replacement set at a prorated cost... I'm assuming these tires are almost gone at 4mm so hopefully that's a 75% replacement cost covered.

I don't plan on ever adding a lift. I'm 5'7" so currently just able to swing my ass in the seat on my tippie toes to hop in. The current tires are 265/70 R16. I won't replace them w/ the same Wrangler based on tread life issue.

I have to replace w/ Goodyear, Dunlop, Cooper or Kelly tires for the credit. Currently looks like the Goodyear Steadfast has some great reviews w/ lots of road drivers.

    Anyone running these tires?

Any thoughts or suggestions on tire size change?? 270/65/R16?? Any preferred size w/o affecting the TRD Pro clearance to avoid any type of tire rub??

Just baffled on how fast these Wranglers went... Thanks!

    Rov

My 2021 Firestone OEM Tires wore down real fast too. At 15,000 miles ( and 3 rotations ) I replaced them with Wildpeaks and have been very
happy with them. According to the national tire chain where I bought the Wildpeaks, OEM tires are made with a softer compound to produce a
smoother quieter ride for test-drives and wear down faster. I don't know if this is fact or not....

Like you I mostly drove on pavement with occasional easy-jaunts onto gravel roads to engage the 4WD system, never drove like a maniac or
    hit the brakes hard.

    Have you checked your alignment?

This thread made me look at my OEM Wranglers and I don't have a penny handy to gauge, but I'm at 20k miles and can probably get another 10 to 15k from mine. Rotated every 5k.

If the warranty pricing they offer isn't a screaming hot deal, just step up to Michelin Defenders (Costco is a good source) and call it a day.

Not necessarily, I'm at 30k on mine and they look to have about half life remaining. This is on a heavier 4Runner as well.

    Probably very driver-dependent, though.

Wash the tires before you go or at least make them look like decent shape. You might get a better prorated amount!!!!

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Same tires on my '21 TRD OR. Currently at 32K miles and I expect to squeak out another 10K on them this Summer. Same as you - 99% driving on pavement.
I suspect your driving style has a lot to do with the difference.

Not sure which Wildpeaks you are talking about. I have 55k on mine and still at 10/32.

Wildpeaks AT. I never had luck with Falken. Man 55k is insane. Do you drive on pillows?

My OEM Wranglers went up to 44k miles and I finally swapped them out. Only off road in sand dunes and SoCal and Nevada deserts. No rock crawling or mud. Also some ice and SoCal snow.

I went bigger and different brand, wanted to try Yokohama Geolanders.
I personally did not mind the oem wranglers. Good all around tire.

Man sorry you had bad luck with them. Did you have the LT or P tires? I'm running the LT's. Several of my friends have them, and love them. I rotate them every 5k, and do an alignment once a year. 90% is on the road driving, and we don't have the greatest roads here, but not terrible like the salt belt and up north.

Excellent all around street tires, and among the best I've had to date.
I've got 20K on a set the 4Runner is running as we speak, and they're still close to new.
With only one rotation to date, done @ 10K, the front and rears are visually indistinguishable from one another.

My OEM Wranglers lasted only some 400 miles. They were light tires - but that is all the positives I can think of... They are some ugly tires on Tacos for certain.

    - I changed them for Wildpeak At3w as soon as I could... I have about 21k mi on the Wildpeaks so far. It looks like I will likely get maybe 12-15k miles more out of them at this rate.

For on road use, the Defender LTX MS^2 is unbeatable. It will also work off road better than many ATs.
