:rofl:His hybrid 2023 Tundra . He's jealous that the seats are more comfortable, has a way better turning radius and the interior is far better quality... let alone the gas mileage. He's planning on trading it in and picking up the off road ( non hybrid ) .

His truck is beautiful but its terrible to drive .

The 22+ Tundras have crazy bad turning radius, they increased the caster and limited steering turn for some reason.

The 4th gen tacoma turning radius is shorter than the 3rd gen but its not as noticeable.

I really dont enjoy the top end Tundras, big mirrors, big screens and the hybrid model simply is as fast as they hyped it to be.

I have the sport with the 6' bed . Hes looking at the 2024 non hybrid off road version with the electronic locking rear differential and crawl control. Hes not waiting for the hybrid version with the extra price for the hybrid And more depreciation for the Tundra if he waits.

Mirrors OMG - he has those ugly, big trailer mirrors. But the Tundra red is beautiful otherwise.

Went to the dealer today and looked at the new Tundras. The salesman I talked to was a Toyota mechanic for 20 yrs. He became a salesman due to back problems. He stated that the 22 up Tundras are high maintenance as time goes on. The turbos and complexity of all the different systems are making them less desirable to own. But they are leasing them more and more. Which makes since so you don't have worry about the high mileage problems. He said when a 2018-2021 gets traded in they sell it in a couple of days. 2024 1794 was 82k. When we finished looking he took a dozen pics of my 2020 as he had never seen one in Calvery Blue. Done thinking about upgrading.

Exactly this. People saying to buy a full size truck because of price but fail to realize individual wants.

Drove a 2024 SR5 and the interiors are about the same level plastics everywhere.

The power is no where near a tundra also.

    Maybe he's just a friend who's male.

Not every friend is a mate. Well, maybe if you use the Queen's English you have a few more. :D

That's kind of surprising he finds your seats more comfortable. Do you have the softex or fabric seats?

Good looking truck. I've loved the Tundies, but I'd drive that.

Beautiful truck. I have the 3.5 V6 in my Tacoma and sometimes wish I had a turbo on it. I just keep telling myself I bought it for the reliability. not to go fast. Though going fast is fun.

I wonder if we'll see these same maintenance issues down the road with the 4th gen tacos. By comparison, the complexity of the new Tacoma engine makes mine look like a straight six from a 50's Chevy.
