Discussed a month ahead of you in the 4R forum. One guy actually bought the kit, see pictures: https://www.4runners.com/posts/574314

As part of the install he removed the sway bar, then drove around a bit and found the handling acceptable, so he ended up returning the kit.

Biggest technical drawback to the kit is incompatibility with spindle gussets.

 

I'm thinking with another 1/2" of preload, I'll feel confident enough without the sway bar day-to-day

 

Think a 2TR-FE water pump gasket would fit over the assembly?

 

dont you have compression adjusters? changing your preload collars will only adjust your height, not the spring force for body roll. the 700# springs will help tho. 600# and no sway bar is a little bit 88 grand marquis in handling.

 

No adjusters. Those were $2500 more. Doesn't preload make it stiffer initially?

Preload will adjust how much compression there is on the spring when the shock is at full extension. How much preload will change how much teh spring will compress with the trucks weight on it. Increasing preload will only make things stiffer if you are topping out the shock at ride height. If you have down travel (which you do), adjusting preload (up or down) will only change where the shock sits in its travel.

Stiffness is directly related to spring rate and virility. Damping helps with stiffness "feeling".

Brampton has changed drastically for the worse in the last 15 years since I left. I grew up about 10 mins from your meet up location. I bet Brampton was decent when the population was in the 100,000-200,000 range. Now wayyy over 1,000,000.

Keep your head on a swivel, and assume nobody will stay in their lane, signal, stop at a red, go on a green, or drive with their eyes open. I’d say it’s the Wild West, but at least there was a code of conduct there (I assume).
