As do I. But still overpriced to generate much demand. I would have bought a Ford Lightning in a minute if the price was close to that of my '23 Tacoma

I saw a clapped out Tesla rental with FL plates. The guy driving clearly didn't give a shit about the car the way he was driving.

No doubt, I do as well. Though its my primary vehicle right now so most of what it does is just commute. Its definitely/realistically enough truck for me. And since its my daily driver right now its great to have it for doing actual truck things.

Not trying to be a doomsayer. This shit boggles the mind. But I stand firm in my observations. I dont know when its coming, but it would take a whole lot of changes to smooth things out. Given the track record of seemingly circling the drain, were probably due for a big one within our lifetime.

I agree it’s going to happen in our lifetime. Absolutely but soon? I doubt it. People might not be feeling as much but as a whole, our economy is doing quite well right. Best in the world actually and I’m not just saying that to be “patriotic”

we will see though. Those of us aware of our situations, just need to be smart with money when we can

I know two people who own Tesla's and they both LOVE them. EV's are the greatest thing since sliced bread in their opinion. I believe we are witnessing the beginning of the end of the ICE for transportation but as someone commented above, there isn't a chance in hell it's going to happen by 2030 and attempting to force people into getting one will lead to physical violence and bloodshed.

And that's what's so infuriating about it all. Trying to force people into things they don't need or don't want. Artificially propping up the EV market through subsidies both in development and sales to make it attractive with tax payer money is not the way. Going to war on ICE emissions, MPG, and oil in an effort to make ICE less appealing. It's all orchestrated to force people to EVs and a grid that can't sustain it. Let it happen naturally if it's to be, but the way they are trying to force people to them is glaringly obvious.

I just dont get some of the absolute hate some people have about EV's. I mean I think I do get it, and theyre victims of propaganda. The ICE engine came around because of the absolute abundance of oil everywhere and its high power efficiency, and batteries werent at a great place technologically. Batteries still have a good way to go and have their own resource/pollution issues, but if it works it works.

Remember in the 60s when seat belts were an optional upgrade? LOL.

I agree: hybrids/ev's are the future. But just cause it's the future, doesn't mean it's a better future.

It seems to be pretty comparable between the different brands. A quick search shows these starting prices:

    Toyota Tacoma: $31,500
    Nissan Frontier: $30,510
    Ford Ranger: $32,670
    Chevy Colorado: $29,500

Out of those Toyota has the best reliability imo.

Just for kicks looked at prices for used Tacomas. Given, mine doesn't have leather or any fancy techs, but many are priced higher than mine was news. Insanity!

Here in Fl, started looking for new '23 OR that were left on lots back in Nov.'23. 6 months later they're all gone in our state. I found a used stock '23 OR (FL driven) with 6k on it for the same price (44k) as the new one 6 months earlier. Couldn't afford, nor wanted the new 4cyl '24 with comparable options. I guess i'm lucky I found one down here that's unsalted and clean.

Seemed like prices were slowly dropping this winter and then increased 10-15% at least here in the NW. Anyone buying a used 3rd gen right now must be extremely desperate, especially with the interest rates. Who on earth is buying in this market? Hopefully things will change, til then I'll be running the first gen.
