Cargo Dividers

Anybody have the Toyota OEM cargo dividers?

 

^I haven't seen them in person other than Toyota's website...let me know how they are if you get it, considering getting one myself

Considering buying one. Have only seen them in the Toyota brochure and on their website. How do like them? They are only shown installed in the front part of the bed up near the cab. Can you position them anywhere along the bed rail? Thanks.

 

Many people have them, use the search function for more details. My .02 based on what I've read is, they are great, very rigid, most people don't use them as often as they think they will, and they are fairly pricey.

 

I've wanted to make one my self, but I've found it not being a necessity. IMO a bed mat work very well.

 

I got one for christmas and had a heck of a time sliding it up and down the rails. I thought I was doing something wrong. It took two guys from the dealership about 10 minutes to "slide" it along the rails. Its not really that user friendly. Someone on this forum said its a common problem. Once its in place though it certainly will not move. If you search the forum you will find some inovative ways to deal with the sliding problem.

 

I saw one for sale on TW last night for $150. I like mine. I have it set about 18 inches from the cab most of the time and throw things between it and the cab to keep them from sliding. Air tank, cooler, bags of stuff, etc. Works great form me.

Looks like you missed a great deal!

 

It is an expensive piece of aluminium, but it's worth it. You might find it kinda hard to remove only the central part at first when you wanna fully load the bed, but you will get used to it. Takes me 2 minutes taking it off and maybe 4 putting back the center part on it.

The central part is composed of a metal frame and a metal grill. I use the grill to hold my elastic hooks (dunno how to call them), but even if it feels solid enough, I don't anchor anything on the metal grill, I instead use the frame, which is pretty solid.

It slides easily, again, you just have to get used to how the sliding system works. The only complain I could have is that, sometimes, the rail system loosen up on one side, setting a side of the cargo divide free of moving. Now I really ensure that it's hardly thightened.

And yes you can slide them anywhere you want in the bed.

I've got one too, and I like it a lot. I actually got some fork mounts for my bikes and mounted them on the divider, so its got my bike rack built in really. If I slide it all the way up, my bike fits in with the tail gate closed just fine.

My only complaints are that it does sometimes get stuck on the rails when sliding. Easy to remedy once you get how the sliding system works. The other is that even if you slide it all the way to the front, you still lose about 5" from the total length of the bed to use. Hasn't been a huge deal yet though.

When I installed my tannau cover, I had to cut about 1/2? off of each side of the divider to get it to fit. Measured twice, cut once, been working great ever since.
