In August 2023, I got pulled over by an unmarked green Dodge Charger that looked NOTHING like a cop car, while driving home from dropping off Amanda (who still lived in Ambler at the time) after we saw the 9:30 showing of Indiana Jones. It was probably 1am...

This green Charger started tailgating me maybe a mile and a half from my house; I finally got pissed off and floored it because I thought it was just another prick with a V8. I got pulled over less than a mile from my house, for "swerving and speeding"; I may have swerved when I looked down for a brief second to adjust the HVAC controls, but the "speeding" was just hitting the gas to get away from what I thought was an aggressive driver.

I didn't get a ticket, but that situation still pisses me off because I feel like it was entrapment; I still freak out when I'm driving at night and a vehicle starts riding my ass, especially if it's a Ford Explorer or a Dodge Charger.

There's a bit of good news...

People took to social media, specifically an unofficial Warrington community Facebook page, and complained. Apparently, a lot of people got pulled over by these two unmarked Warrington Township PD Chargers (there's a burgundy one, and the green one that stopped me). The cop cars literally look nothing cop cars until the emergency lights come on.

So, the use of unmarked cop cars to conduct routine traffic stops went over like a tax audit on Christmas Eve, and people bitched about it. It seemed like I would see the burgundy Charger and the green Charger involved in a few traffic stops a week, but it occurred to me in the last few days that I haven't seen either one in months; I see marked Warrington PD vehicles conducting traffic stops all the time, but the unmarked cars are nowhere to be seen.

This is nothing new. I have a friend in high school who got pulled over by an unmarked muscle car. Cop tailgated him, idiot high schooler took it as a sign to speed up.

Cop pulls him over, walks up to the car, tells him “I thought everyone in town knew this was a cop car!”

 

Using an unmarked car is one thing by itself, but baiting like that is so wrong

 

I don't play with Mopars... Statistically speaking they have more drunk drivers than any other car brand. The Undercovers around here are all chargers too and we all know which ones they are and there are a couple modified ones

I can sort of understand if I was in a Supra or something, but why would they bait a guy in a 4-cylinder Tacoma? I must have done something right, because I didn't get a ticket; I am also 99% sure that the cops stopped using the two unmarked Chargers for traffic stops to avoid a PR disaster, because I haven't seen either one in months.

 

Thankfully, I think the police got the message and stopped using the the two Chargers in question so aggressively in order to avoid a PR nightmare...

 

Why would a sump pump have a vent with a fan in it though?

 

Because they can. Nuff said.

Had something like that happen to me going to school one day in my Olds Delta 88. Just kept the speed limit and then the grill lights come on. Guy comes up in plain clothes and asks for my paperwork. I said "I will give it to a uniformed officer in a marked vehicle, please call one". He tried to bully me but I stood my ground. Said he thought my bumper was loose..load of shit. Oddly no other officer showed up..

I got this commercial mini fridge for free yesterday, and my intention was to scrap it, until the older couple I got it from said that it did in fact work! Amanda needs a bigger fridge in her room, and a new one is about $150. The couple was done with this fridge because the door was messed up, and the door had actually been removed by the time I got it. I got some spare washers from my dad's workbench door and was able to get the door more or less operational. The fridge got cold in a matter of hours when plugged in, it has been running in my garage for a little over a day, and I currently keeping some of my beer in there to see if it keeps the beer cold...

 

I hit, and missed, 198K miles tonight on the way home from Amanda's tonight...

 

Fridge in the garage is just about the hardest working environment a fridge can be in, so if it works there, in a conditioned space like a house it should be fine.

I too find Beer to be a great unit of measurement. Both time and temperature.

 

One of the VPs of the company I got laid from fosters dog for a rescue organization (we got Porter from him) and he has 15 of them! He and his wife are moving to Alabama, and I m saw his dogs when I went to pick up a fridge from him...
