I'm always blown away by the amount of power some of the boats have down in Florida. I know this isn't even that crazy, but it's not uncommon to see things like this in the canal. I think those are 500's.

 

Yup, v-12s! The left bank of cylinders drives the front prop while the right bank drives the back prop in the opposite direction.

Yup V-12. You can tell by how the gear case is mounted. This engine is mounted solid to the boat. Only the gearcase moves.

 

So, on the 600s only the lower unit trims?

I noticed that on those 500s that only the lower unit turned. But, I still think the whole thing tilted together.

 

What I ment to say was that when you turn the steering wheel only the lower unit moves. Gearcase may not be the correct word, because this engine has a 2 speed transmission mounted in the midsection, aka driveshat housing
