Can we at least all agree that this entire sauce and flavors debate (and I use that term loosely, more like a pack of apes flinging poo at zoo visitors) is all Tyler’s the Moderator’s fault? Somehow that fancy green tag on his name gets the boys all riled up and encourages uncivil discourse. For shame!

 

There is a wide variety of ketchup out there, you just need to get out of mom's basement and expand your taste buds!

 

Braunschweiger sandwiches have been a staple of my family's spring fishing trips. Usually with Vidalia onion, on rye bread. I've never tried mustard on it.

Well, I did warn that it wasn't for those with weak taste buds. You should see what I do with A1 sauce.

 

Isn't this kinda like saying "I like ketchup, but only if you make it not taste like ketchup" or something?

90% in agreement with you. The only exception is when cooking over a campfire. I prefer a hot dog in that instance.

 

I will say this about liver sausage/Braunschweiger:

it seems to be an acquired taste. For me, personally, there needs to be a balance of bread and onion. I don't think I actually like it on its own.

I do love brats. I grilled a lot of them my first year as a bachelor out here in the sticks.

Hot dogs seem to be best as a vehicle for toppings. Look at the Chicago style Hot dog. But, a good hot dog on a good bun really doesn't need anything.
