Thanks Mike. There are steps on the truck but they are not really functional as they are more designed to be sliders and are too close to the body to use. As far as I know the tires, wheels, offset are the same as the typical Taco that year.

I have scrutinized specs of the 2.5 Baja pretty closesly, and you're correct. The faux beadlock and a 265/70-16 tire is OEM, nothing crazy. Upgraded shocks and stiffeer leaf is all.

You're a man after my own heart, @Travlr.

    upload_2024-5-3_10-10-1.png

Are you utilizing the sliders? What about removing them and adding a little spring step or something. Can't say I know of a quality option off hand, but it must exist. I'm adding a 1.5" and it's gonna make it near impossible for my vertically challenged GF to get in. She already relies heavily on the A pillar handle. I thought a small unobtrusive spring step on the pass side only would possibly do it. Go Rhino used to sell something but it's NLA.

Thanks for the idea on the step, but I like the sliders because we do get outback quite a bit. And I don't like the hassle of using a step every flippin' time I want to get in the truck anyways.

I had the other 2012 I saved from the scrap yard and it was standard height... and I loved it. But the Baja has all the bells and whistles so deciding between the two I kept the Baja. If the only thing keeping me from having a stock height is the front and rear shocks, I think I'll just change them out.

yeah. I don't like that either. That'd be ridiculous.

The sliders are invaluable if you're putting your stuck in that situation. I don't have to tell you a lot of folks put 'em on and don't 'need' 'em.

IIRC, the Bilstein 6112 is the Baja spec, larger diameter/increased oil/increased cooling in an abusive scenario is the thought. You could go Bilsein 5100's, they are readily available, inexpensive (relatively), and even adjustable. Keep 'em low or get up to 2+ inches out of 'em, I believe.

you didn't ask my opinion, but I'd keep the 6112's in a box and if you ever sell, you can return the Baja to OEM spec. That's a nice touch on what's likely to remain a sought after truck for quite a while.

you're in as a consulting contributor, it's all good. I think your stock cred has left the building

My #1 is waiting on exhaust gaskets of all things. Hopefully arrive today. Been getting out on the old girl here and there. (the '79) Got a TOTD trip in a month so the GRiSO is getting a thorough go over in preparation.

lol that works. tbh i guess lol my truck isnt exactly lifted thou haha only thing to make it not stock would be the winch mount and bed rack. trying to build it kinda like a baja pro stock+ if that makes sense lol. was trying to see if fn wheels still made the baja style wheels in 17" but no information when i messaged them sadly...

gotta love waiting on parts lol my bike is buried in the parts from the civic tear down haha so its gonna be a pain to get it out of the garage! that trip do sound fun thou! only thing i got in a month is moving the gf up here haha

IMG_0355.jpg Morning Stockers:hattip:, so I ordered some stuff for the T4R, glove and console organizers. The big one was the black anti glare hood decal. My wife and I hate the glare at night. Let’s be clear, this is not a modification, but a medical upgrade.:D Had one on the Tacoma, it really helped.
