Read all the posts... This was not the first oil change.

That was nice of them, but if you look at the paperwork provided it's 5k mile tire rotations and 10k mile oil changes.

That's not standard though. They will do it if you ask but per Toyotacare the first oil change is 10k.

To be clear this was not the trucks first oil change.... or should not have been if the dealer did their job. No the big chunks aren't from the oil, part of the crush washer I scraped off. What you're seeing is the bottom of the oil catch pan after I had dumped 98% of it out. It was much darker than I anticipated when I drained it. According to the dealer, they changed the oil at 10k. I had asked them to change it at the 5k service as well, but the guy at the service center this past visit told me they "probably just said they did"....

    Oh. Thank fvck.

The small glitter you're seeing is pretty normal. Those big strips would have been death.

Surprised that any particle easily seen by the naked eye, were not caught by the filter.

Sorry to ask this; but the oil pan was clean before you did the oil change right?

While the picture we're looking at here may as well be depicting a bowl of clam chowder, particles will always be visible in any oil change when held to the sun.
It boils down to just what kind of 'particles' we're talking about. No one can give you an answer by looking at this picture, or any picture.
I'd hazard a guess half that crap was garbage that was in the drain pan before the oil ever hit it, but again, who knows..

    minor tweaks
When it come to machining particles most don't pass through the filter, they come from various areas in the engine and are carried down the the pan along with the oil cycling through the system. They drop out of suspension while the oil is in the pan, the oil pickup which feeds the filter is spaced above the pan specifically so it doesn't pick these up.

Scraped parts of crush washer from where exactly? Not from engine oil drain plug, washer for it fiber material.

Some are the crush style metal ones. Sometimes they stick to the oil pan.

There are many crush washers / gaskets in the world, made of many different materials.
Nylon, copper, aluminum, fiber, etc., etc.

OEM Toyota Crush Washer pictured here, for example..

I get plenty crush washers in the world.,The photo I provided, was for Toyota engine oil drain plug washer. Maybe OP did not clean drain pan, before draining engine oil. I dnk. I don't want to blow things out of proportion.:D

Anyone who waits until 10,000 miles to have their oil changed for the first time is being penny-wise and pound-foolish IMO. You just literally wasted 10k miles and 1 year of the manufacturer engine warranty. And for what reason? A DIY oil change takes 1 hour and costs less than $100.

If I could wave a magic wand, I would make everyone understand and do the following.

    1) Change your oil and filter after your very first tank of gas. Switch to fully synthetic Royal Purple, Amsoil or Mobil 1 and don't look back.
    2) Repeat every 5000 miles thereafter.

This truck would have had 4 oil changes by now if it were mine. 500, 5000, 10000 and 15000. If there was an issue with metal particulates, I would have invoked a warranty claim at 5000 miles and say 6 months. And not 16000 and over a year after a single oil change.

Those metal particles are obviously way too small to be captured by the oil filter and have been CIRCULATING in the engine for 10000+ miles.
