Yesterday I noticed a horrible squeaking sound coming from my rear window. The sound is quite loud with the rear sliding window open, less noticeable with it closed, but still there and VERY annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Not sure what to do about it - I feel like if I take it to Toyota, they will probably just spray some wd40 around the area and be done with it, which I can do myself.

Is this a known issue that needs to be fixed? Only thing I can think of that may have caused this is I live in PA and pollen is very heavy right now. Maybe the rubber around the window is caked up with pollen and just needs to be cleaned?

It sounds like you don't want to, and I understand that. That said, if it's under warranty (I'm assuming you are still) I would take it in for two reasons:
    1. if you attempt to fix, and still have issues, your fix could be blamed for the warranty denial
    2. if you have more issues, it has already been documented. That window assembly has some labor hours billed to replace.

Just dust around the seals . I use those clorox wipes and just run it along the inside edge to clean it up.

I'll try to hose off the truck since the pollen is really bad and focus on that area more. Hopefully it's just a dirt build up like mentioned from vivid02 and a quick hose off will get rid of it. If not, off to Toyota!

Seems that was the issue - a little wipe of the window and rubber seals and squeak is gone. Most've been from all the pollen.

    Nice!
Going to the dealer for warranty work is about as fun as a sore pecker.

I may still have to take her in eventually... Unfortunately, I've been having issues with the passenger side wiper nozzle. Keeps partially spraying under the hood causing a mess and running down the right side. I've had them look at it twice now when taking it in for the free oil changes and what not, but still hasn't been fixed. Could be a worse issue, but it drives me nuts. Especially after a nice wash, I prefer not to have wiper fluid sprayed all over.
