I've had the factory spare tire since 2007.
Recently went with 285\75\17's up from my 285\75\16's, so I removed the spare and put one of the 33's in the factory location.
Used a sledge to move the tabs and exhaust.

I had the same exact issue as well at the car wash. I added the Pele cover and sealed my windshield cowl with a little sealant to the glass and now my air filter and passenger floor are bone dry when I go through the car wash.

My cowl looks likes it's flat against the glass and just recently started to leak at the car wash. Just to be sure, where exactly are we putting the silicone sealant?

Working on swapping out some TRD OR Rims from a 4rnr, they came with TPMS - I have probably read 20 threads on if the TPMS' from a newer 4runner will read on a 2nd gen and still don't have a clear answer lol. I have seen a lot of guys on here with those rims, has anyone done this successfully before?

I put 2020 4runner SR5 wheels and tires on my 2012 and they scanned in fine. I had to buy a set for some 2022 4runner Off Road wheels (no tpms included) to run on my 2008 Tacoma. I bought a full set for $50, plus a single for my spare, off Amazon. 3 years no issues.

How is the fit on the hvac knobs. I put the cheap $10 ones in my 2008 and they are slightly loose (little slop between rotated settings). I do like that they are illuminated at night.20211020_162200.jpg

The 4x4 and the on/lo/hi knob are snug, the temp and position knobs are a bit loose so might need to do a slight wedging of something in the knob holes, but overall, I love the rugged look of em, I had the same ones you have to and I liked how they lit up as well.

I’m really appreciating my paid off 2013 after seeing the prices of the new Trd Pro, Trail Hunter, and even the Off-road Premium.
The way things are going I’ll never sell or trade in my truck. Still drives great and it is close in mpg to the non hybrid versions.
