What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Any idea on what this piece is called? I need to find one that isn’t ripped it’s driving me nuts.

 

Go to partsouq.com and put in ur vin. They have the number for those pieces in the body/interior section. I know for my truck and trim color the armrest isn’t available, but maybe the blue gray one is. Mine is peeling off, but I can’t find a new one anywhere, probably will have to find a part out.

I’ve been told that 90-95 4-runners have the same armrest, might have more luck finding a used part that way

 

Yup and that blue gray color is more common in them too

 

Got the cracked windshield replaced and removed all the old purple bubbling tint and glue off the other windows.

 

Removed the gas tank and cut the rotted muffler off so I can start this repair.

 

New lights, new grill, fewer bullet holes

 

Ouch. That is a damn shame... But not everything lives forever.

 

But what should I do about those chrome corners? Open to fun ideas. Could just paint them I suppose.

 

I replaced mine with more chrome by way of a 4Runner bumper. Half of the bolts line up, and that's been good enough.

But for you... you know how to weld. Why not replace them with a nice tube bumper?

I don’t really want the weight of a tube bumper, but it could be fun to build some kind of unholy hybrid….

 

I'm right there with you. The reason I picked that particular bumper (apart from just thinking it looks good) is that the turn signals are in the full-width metal bar. You can cut up or entirely remove the lower valance while still keeping a somewhat complete-looking front end. It opens up the possibility of doing something like a 3rd-gen "mini bumper". Imagine a slightly more filled out version of Amp'd Up Fab's hidden winch mount:

Swapped out the snout on the supercharger so I can run the smaller, standard style pulleys.





This one is the 2.2" one.

 

Have you gotten to drive it yet? But dyno impressions and boost numbers?
