So WHY do I need to wite brush, hammer away at rust flakes and grind down to almost bare metal before using por15. Will it make the frame last longer? I thought I can just por paint over it and call it good?
*if I have a pretty rusty undercarriage and use por does it essentially allow the frame to last a long time?

    My attention span is short.
I seen that the video was 44 mins long, and I instantly decided that what ever I can find on my local store shelf, was the "right stuff".

Once corrosion has started, stopping it is very, very difficult. To have even half a chance of succeeding, you need to remove as much existing corrosion as possible. Then you need to properly apply a product such as POR 15 following the instructions very carefully.

Why can't you simply apply POR 15 over existing rust and call it a day? (Well, you can, but it won't work.) Because you will not have gotten to the bottom / base of the corrosion. If you don't remove / neutralize it at the base, it just keeps on corroding. Said another way, rust never sleeps and stopping it is far, far harder than preventing it in the first place. Sorry, but that's the absolute truth.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
Funny. I appreciate these type videos, but Im in your boat. Ive seen enough long review videos that when I skipped forward in the video I landed right at his his overall ranking with comment/criticism.

Nothing wrong with that. I routinely skip over 90% of Project Farm's testing & commentary and just go for the results tabulations at the end of his latest video.

The point is that, like ProjectFarm dude, this guy has done real, independent, unbiased, extended-time research on the question at hand and has real-world info to back his conclusions.

If you don't get to where the rust converter can 'soak' through to the base metal, the corrosion underneath will just keep corroding.
It's kind of like wiping the globs of grease off of your hands, before you hit them with the soap....
