I have had a lot of experience with different vinyls, decals and adhesives. I have access to commercial adhesive removers and thought I would have these off and cleaned up in minutes. Wrong. It was an absolute nightmare and could not get the adhesive off for anything. I had to take it to a local detailing shop and have them finish it off and buff it back.

Just a warning not to think these are just gonna fall off with a heat gun and a little peeling.

The badges are pretty standard. I wouldn’t be too afraid of that. Of course I wasn’t afraid of the decals either!:annoyed:

    Vehicle:

    an empty wallet
3m adhesive removal wheel or goo gone (not goo off) and then claybar and polish afterwards

For sticker decals, the wheel will take it right off then goo gone then claybar and polish afterwards.
For the emblems, fishing line then wheel then goo gone then claybar and polish afterwards.

I'm a fellow sticker hater. Goo gone, fingernails, time and patience eventually worked for me on the bed stickers but I know your pain. I also took the airbag stickers off the sun visors, which I don't advise trying. Counseling for OCD would have been easier and taken less time.

Now that I decided on getting a truck with a bed sticker....
Any other success stories on approach to take on getting them off?

Seems simple enough, little heat-gun action & should peel right off in one piece...
But from others posting, doesnt seem to be the case.

There was one on my local lot & had a fold at the edge, I messed with it at the time & appeared it would easily just peel off in one piece from the 1/2" I peeled back...
Doesnt sound like that's the norm from what im reading.

Gasoline will soften up the goo in about 10 minutes.

wonder if the guys struggling with removal didn’t at least use a blow dryer…
Also seen some videos, allow the bedside to bake in the sun for a few hours and loosen up the adhesive..

same boat. I’m got one off with an eraser wheel. Needs a wet sand now. Waiting for a body shop to send me the quote to finish the job.

but to me the decals look crooked and I can’t stand them.

I keep wondering why some came right off and others didn’t.

From your comment in another thread if I remember correctly, you struggled with yours as it took time and it came off in. small pieces, did you use heat?

I have removed several of these decals by heating and peeling the decal itself, then follow up the residue removal with 3M Automotive adhesive remover. Works very well.

Mine came off with a heat gun, just don't apply too much. I finished up with WD-40.

As long as you’re not using it on a painted plastic surface, a 3M type eraser wheel will do the job with no damage. I use them all the time (body shop technician). The trick is to run the wheel slow. The panel aluminum so if it gets hot it may distort a bit, but it will come back. Just take your time.

Yep. Tried the sun and a heat gun. No luck. Considered the adhesive wheel but I figured I would fuck up the paint. Just took my time then polished and waxed afterwards.

I will have to purchase a wheel for this job and get over the fear of using them.

    weird, seems like mixed results....
Wonder if its related to amount of heat some are introducing or are some decals truly on there more secure vs others come right off...
Hopefully im in the "lucky" crowd...
Looks like some really struggled with this task, per the recent responses.

Pulled mine off the day I brought it home. Both sides came off in one piece. Also removed the Tacoma badges on the doors. They came off in one piece and left just a bit of adhesive.
