Hi everyone! me again with more questions :)

i see posts about the transmission cooler and i see that my truck has one stock. 2020 sport.

trailer i am pulling for the next few years, wet, is max 3850lb.(for sake of the post)

do i need to get an aftermarket transmission cooler or will the stock one be ok?

Also, dumb questions. i usually am towing in 3 or 4th and i see posts saying not to have it in overdrive. is that a button somewhere or is that just the drive mode and not gear select?
how do i ensure it is off?

    Thanks in advance!

The stock trans cooler doesn't come on line soon enough for my taste. I pin the t-stat open when towing so it’s always working. I get about a 10*f reduction in the overall trans temp that way. If you’re pulling a lot of hills and such, you might want to look into an aftermarket cooler. For me it’s primarily flatland, so the stock cooler, pinned, works very well. I also monitor my trans temps with a Scangauge so I know how it all fits together.

No button for “overdrive”. OD in a towing scenario would be 5th and 6th gear. To ensure it’s “off”, use S4. It sounds like that’s what you’re doing, so all good.
