The basket I bought is 17x36x7, $99. Amazon has another that is 13x38x7, for $110. I had no tractor experience prior to 6 weeks ago. Still don't have any experience with rear attachments. But I wanted to be able to carry some things when out working around the property. If later on the basket becomes a problem I can remove it, or try the narrower basket, or attach pool noodles as @koditten suggested.

Yeah I think it’s a great attempt and if it’s cumbersome or needs to go away, you can remove it and adjust. I think smaller storage place off to the side of the ROPS makes a bit more sense for me so I have clear and open access behind the seat. I like the size and space you have setup though. Easy to stack a saw and gas cans or something similar.

    Funny you said pool noodles.
Going out in just a little bit to float around the reef.
@koditten we left CLT yesterday at 07:15 and arrived in our current location at 09:15 their time.
    No tractor time for me.

A couple of rear window decals...
Do you have any local buddies that would weld up a couple of brackets to allow you to mount it a little higher on the ROPs? I don't think you'll have an issue the toplink clearing the basket with any implements, but you may want to wear a hard hat when attaching them...

Don't know any welders. I was torn about trying to get it any higher... I had thought of bolting the basket to a piece of Unistrut and clamping the strut to the ROPS. But then being 71, less than 6ft, and with a questionable back... I was hesitant to mount it too high. But again, it's easily removable if problems arise

Another problem I could foresee, depending on the terrain you're covering, is s*** bouncing out.

Son; "Mom do you know where Dad's at?"

Mom; "he's somewhere out on the tractor, just follow the tools."

I plan to use bungee cords or a small net similar to what the guy in the original OTT post that I had linked 2 weeks ago did.

    And more on this subject.

I do mow a lot - not really enough to justify a $8000 commercial mower, I was working toward it though... :D

The truck was probably a better way to spend the money.

Contemplated going Big on a Snowblower but knowing my luck with seasonal machines, it will likely never snow again after getting it. Then it will sit until someone offers $100 for it the day before a Snow Apocalypse. :frusty:

I won't take credit for the idea. A few posts back I linked where I first saw the idea on OrangeTractorTalks.com :)

I started this season out with 9 lawns in town and the 3+ hours here at home.
It is safe to say I've never let the grass grow up under the mower.

On the other hand my ZT is a 2006 residential model that cost $2600 (back then), it is still going strong.
Kind of hard to justify spending 3X as much when I have gotten 17 years out of a economy model.

... But it would be a real nice mower.

This is what I was dangerously close to buying.
