Need help, I have a 2017 trd sport. I have noticed a gas smell after my truck is turned off. I went under truck and need help with part name. It looks wet so I'm assuming this is what is causing smell. No other issues no check engine light or gas on floor. Lines you see are coming from gas tank. aATTACH=full]5741120[/ATTACH]

Those are the lines from the fuel pump. Did you have the fuel pump recall done recently? If so, the dealer may not have connected them properly after their work.

That's the connection between the plastic fuel lines off the tank, to the metal lines that run to the engine. The connector has little o-rings in it. But in 5 years of working for Toyota and hundreds of fuel pump recalls, I have never seen one leak. Maybe leaking on the plastic line side. The "locking" side of the connection is on the tank line side. It's a plastic housing that is heat crimped into the plastic line.

That component is shown below. If the fuel tank needs to be removed, say to replace the fuel pump, this component is there so the fuel supply and fuel return lines can easily be disconnected for the service without having to cut apart the lines and then later perform a splice repair. That's it - simple as that.

That part is all wet so at least one of the hose connections is leaking and causing your gas smell. Good catch. Frankly, it looks like they're all about to become completely detached. Or the body of the fitting itself or one of the nipples for the hoses has cracked due to age, brittleness, etc... This would not be unusual.

This is an EASY DIY fix. Simply wiggle back underneath your truck and carefully remove the hoses and examine the part for crack(s). If you have a crack, get a new one. The dealer should have these in stock. They're about $50.

If the fitting, which is plastic, appears to be intact, replace the fitting and re-attach the hoses with them being pressed toward the body of the fitting as far as possible.

There does not appear to be any hose clamps, which is somewhat surprising to me since that is pressurized (at least the supply side from the pump). I would be tempted to personally install some hose clamps - BUT I would be VERY VERY VERY VERY careful to NOT OVER-TIGHTEN BECAUSE THOSE NIPPLES ARE PLASTIC AND WILL PROBABLY BREAK EASILY.
